  1. Aftermath Story idea

Well, if it helps to clarify, all kinds of magical creatures exist that are now popping out of the woodwork. Fairies, gnomes, dwarves, elves, zombies, werewolves, mummies, vampires, etc. Basically, if it's not part of the mundane world, it's gonna appear. Heck, feel free to come up with your own kind of race if you want it thrown in. About the only thing I might not accept is something like an elderich abomination like an elder god or something. World and everyone on it might be royally screwed in that case (plus I'm currently debating if I want something like that to act as the antagonist that threatens everyone or not.) They all vary in power, of course. I think during the beginning of the month, they were pretty crazy, but by the end of the month, with everything beginning to settle down, people start to realize that a good number of these supernaturals are a lot more manageable than they were given credit for. From that point on, I suppose there are those races that can count in the "Crazy powerful" category that should be feared, whether the individual among the race wants to be feared or not. Some part of me suspects that I just spent two paragraphs saying pretty much what we already know, and if that's the case, I apologize for being redundant. Also... oddly, I'm thinking of the name Dulce for the first city to be explored... One last thing, I think I'm almost ready to start things. Just wanted to know, I know in the guild-lines it suggested templates. Just wanted to know if anyone wanted them so that I could try to cook up a template. I normally don't ask for one when I role play since admittedly it's not the first thing I think of when I'm starting a role play.
  2. Aftermath Story idea

Seems to be the case. Really good turn out! I'm rather excited about this! Admittedly, the month sounds most appealing to me. In my head, my character, after having lost his family, would have holed up in his house until he ran out of resources and is forced to move on for the sake of survival, which I imagine would have taken a month. Since this is recent, I'm leaning towards teen then, so he's prolly fourteen/fifteen or so. As to the question, I'll be honest, I didn't give that much thought either. Mainly I was thinking of starting out in some kind of semi-cityscape, like when you walk around you see maybe a good number of buildings halfway buried and entrances into underground caverns that lead to the fully buried buildings. Any suggestions?
  3. Aftermath Story idea

Ooooh, I likes those little origin ideas there. Admittedly, Shadow caught me a little off guard there. Guess I misinterpreted the question. Also, it's up to you if you want to join, Shadow. I'm pretty welcoming for this one, so if you do decide you want to join in, feel free to do so. That goes for you too, ThatOneRoleplayer! You are most definitely welcomed to jump in! If your demoness is looking for new humans, HH, I wonder how my human will handle? Somehow I get the feeling that it's waaaaaaaaaay to easy to get him really flustered. I kind of imagine him being one of those "nervous around pretty girls" types. Interesting choice for your angel, Wstfgl. Starting out as an antagonist still trying to cope. Could be an interesting chance to see a clash of philosophies and what not, even if I'm personally bad at philosophical debates. I had something for my human, but I figured I should ask this to all those interested. Do you think this cataclysm thing happened just recently? Like maybe just a few days to a week ago? Or do you think it should have been going on for a while now. At first I was thinking have it happened just recently, but I thought I'd ask what you guys would think would be more interesting. Little pointless edit: Oh hey! I started the new page! ... why do I feel like that's an accomplishment?
  4. Aftermath Story idea

Sorry for the silence there. Had a crazy week and my ADD distracted me with it. I've been trying to think of a story idea for how everyone meets during the time, though. What do you guys think of this? One of the strange mysteries of the world as it is now is that, for some reason, many of the buildings have suddenly gotten buried under ground. In these buildings are various supplies that are necessary for survival, I.E. food, tools, cash, etc. Basically, as my mind sees it, these places are were survivors go to dungeon crawl for their needs.
  5. Giant mon type story idea

To be perfectly honest, this is a story concept that's been going in and out of my head for a while, so thus far I got about as far as the setting. Been trying to figure out a few things, mainly what the giant monsters are, what are they here for, where do they come from, what are the creature companions and what is their relationship to humanity/the giant monsters, etc etc. On my own, with the creature companions, I figured that certain humans produce some kind of something, like maybe a high amount of spiritual or magical energy or something. The creature companions need that something both to sustain themselves and to fight against the giant monsters, so maybe they try to find humans that will help fight the good fight? As for genre, to me it feels like a modern fantasy/sci-fi with the potential for aspects of other genres to sneak in. I'm open to suggestions! If you happen to have any, feel free to suggest!
  6. Aftermath Story idea

Make that a potential four or five. I have a friend who is showing an interest and they're trying to figure out a character to use for this one. I'll try and get in touch with heatherroneous and see if she is still interested.
  7. Aftermath Story idea

^.^; Heheh, yeah, I'm kind of a sucker for this kind of stuff. It was bound to happen one way or another. Like the idea of a defiant demoness. Those can be pretty fun. I can already picture my humans many face-palmings/disagreements. Not sure what age to put my guy in. Either teen or young adult. I know for certain that he prides himself in his intellect (though is quite willing to admit intellectual defeat (sometimes begrudgingly depending on who beat him and how)). I know he was planning on getting a job in forensics. And I know that he decided to train himself early by trying to solve any mystery novels he comes across (his point of view is that forensics is basically a sciency approach to solving mysteries, so if he can learn how to read clues and follow their leads he can do his job better.) I know that, due to this in some way, he's become pretty obsessed with solving mysteries, and will often go out of his way to try and understand something that particularly confounds him. That's about all I got on him so far. Question, should I limit how many players can come in at first or should I have it open for just about anyone to jump in? Want to know what would be easier or best to start out with.
  8. [Discussion] Corporate Heroes

Oh, thank you! I'll need a moment to think up a charrie, but once thats done I'll jump on as soon as i get a chance.
  9. Aftermath Story idea

XD Loving this! Loving this so much! This is a perfect set up! I can already see my human facepalming to this! ... What the heck, I'll let my human be the butt monkey for this. Too much fun not to play the butt monkey in this set up!
  10. [Discussion] Corporate Heroes

Got a chance to read through this. Is there room for one more to join in? This got me very interested!
  11. Aftermath Story idea

Hey guys. This is just an idea that I had that might be worth sharing. Some of you might have seen this one in an earlier thread I made. Just following HH's advice and making a separate thread for each of said ideas. The end of the world has come and gone. This is a post apocalyptic scenario. Strangely, a large number of the population just vanished, up and disappeared. Those that have remained have to try and survive. However, since the apocalypse has happened, the rules have very much changed. Demons are now free to roam the land and do as they see fit. Angels by the hordes have been left behind, and they'll act as they feel they should, without the guidance of their lord. Fairy and magical creatures now see Earth as their new playground. The undead walk the earth (and even have their own civilizations). Super advance technology is now suddenly being discovered, excavated, and being made use of. All races are, for the most part, doing as they see fit, be it benign or malign. Humanity will have to do all they can to survive in this new world. One human in particular, obsessed with solving mysteries, wants to know why this happened, and he is on his way to the center of where the apocalypse began in order to solve this mission. I was pretty proud of this one when I thought of it a long time ago. I still love this idea, but recently I've noticed that it felt like something straight out of Shin Megumi Tensei, or something similar to it. So... make of that what you will. Taking into account opinions/suggestions made by Heatherroneous and HH from the earlier thread I made, it does seem like a lot to take in, so this will be done in an episodic/story arc style, to give each race a chance in the limelight and help figure out how the fit in with this new world now that the rules have been drastically changed. Players can be from any of the races, though. Whether they join up with the one human trying to solve this mystery or not is up to the individual players. If you have any questions or suggestions, please let me know! I'll try to set up more information and edit this page as I go along, so input and critique is very much appreciated.
  12. Hey guys. This is just an idea that I had that might be worth sharing. Some of you might have seen this one in an earlier thread I made. Just following HH's advice and making a separate thread for each of said ideas. Two divine beings decide to play a game. They create a special world where magic and technology exist as one. Then they summon various people from various dimensions and leave them stranded on this world. They tell them that they are free to do what they wish in this world: They can try to make it their own or try to go home. All of the worlds resources is theirs to use so long as they can access it. The point of the game is simple, who would win? Good or evil? This one is more of an excuse to have a huge crossover kind of event deal. Rp any character you want from any franchise, or make your own character, or an expy of a character you like. If you have any questions or suggestions, please let me know! I'll try to set up more information and edit this page as I go along, so input and critique is very much appreciated.
  13. Hey guys. This is just an idea that I had that might be worth sharing. Some of you might have seen this one in an earlier thread I made. Just following HH's advice and making a separate thread for each of said ideas. The world at large has been, for the most part, completely unaware of the magical world due to it being kept secret from the public eye. For the most part, anything that could have revealed the magical world was dealt with harshly, thus silencing the "threat of exposure." The governments of the world hold a hugely tight monopoly of magic, practically deciding who can use magic and how, but always in secret. Then one day, one of the greatest defenders of the "Silence" has openly revealed to the world the existence of magic, even promising asylum for those who wish to come into the light and not hide anymore. This is the story of but a handful of people who are connected to the magical world in some way or form, and how they deal with this new and very radical approach as a revolution takes place. Think "The Secret World" except the secret as been blown and people either trying to accept it or deny it. If you have any questions or suggestions, please let me know! I'll try to set up more information and edit this page as I go along, so input and critique is very much appreciated.
  14. Hey guys. This is just an idea that I had that might be worth sharing. Some of you might have seen this one in an earlier thread I made. Just following HH's advice and making a separate thread for each of said ideas. Giant monsters have been a problem for humanity for a long time, but humanity has been able to defend themselves and survive. Two methods are the most well known. The first is technological advances made specifically to fight the giant monsters (specialized vehicles, weapons, giant robots, etc.) This method is the easier to obtain of the two, but can be pretty difficult as it endangers the lives of those fighting. One would have to be very well coordinated to take down a giant monster without any casualties. The second method is through the use of a kind of creature that is similar to the giant monsters (they are normally small enough to fit in a house with no trouble, but can be made giant sized to fight off the giant monsters). A bit harder to come by as these creatures will choose who their human partners will be, but the advantages that comes with one makes for a much more efficient means of dealing with the giant monsters (faster, hit harder, a regenerative factor). The creatures can take on many shapes and forms, from forms similar to the animals of the planet, to forms more similar to a human, to even some absolutely bizarre forms that borders on elderich. This idea is more meant to be something like a mon rp, like pokemon or digimon, or something like that, so my initial thoughts were that the main role players would have access to these types of creatures. If you have any questions or suggestions, please let me know! I'll try to set up more information and edit this page as I go along, so input and critique is very much appreciated.
  15. Hey guys. This is just an idea that I had that might be worth sharing. Some of you might have seen this one in an earlier thread I made. Just following HH's advice and making a separate thread for each of said ideas. Basic concept, spiritual beings with special abilities who bond with human hosts. Apart they have their own skills, but when they fuse together they become something like a super-hero kind of thing, with extra abilities that they did not have access to on their own. Their abilities can either resemble magic or something like technology (Like for instance the ability to create fireballs (resemble magic) or being able to turn your arm into an arm blaster (resemble technology)). There's also a dangerous corruptive force that has a tendency to take anything and make it openly hostile to any living creature. This idea kind of borrows a lot of concepts from the Megaman franchise, specifically the Battle Network and Starforce series, though whether theirs online-ness or not is still up for debate. If you have any questions or suggestions, please let me know! I'll try to set up more information and edit this page as I go along, so input and critique is very much appreciated.
