This is where you can discuss everything about the Fist Day RP. It's set in a high school. So make a character that is a freshman-senior, or a teacher, or the creepy janitor. This isn't in a set reality/fantasy world, I want you to bring the other aspects with you. My character has no special powers or abilities. But do not let my lack of such limit you. With this RP I want to show the mods exactly what a newbie can bring to the table, and while some of us aren't exactly new, there is reasonable room to grow always. Now, that is not to say we don't have rules. Langely High has a VERY strict principle. No powers at lunch, if powers even exist, because well...you know. Lunch is for eating. Basically, keep it G, if need be I'll make it PG, but I want anyone and everyone to be able to join in on the fun. Have fun with it, but don't ruin someone else's time. And you CAN NOT role play as a stapler. I've tried it and it doesn't work. Three posts of "Click click, click." and I'd probably have to erase you from the school's registry. With that students and faculty, welcome to Langely High.
Inspired by Harvest Moon, Animal Crossing, Studio Ghibli films, and The Moomins. Renaissance valley is a sleepy little place that is known for its beauty no matter what season it is. The village in Renaissance Valley is also widely known as a place where artists, artisans, and many other folk come to practice their craft. As a newcomer to Renaissance Valley, you must help contribute in your skills, whether they be painting, tailoring, smithing, or any other skill, as well as explore and take inspiration in the valley's many hidden secrets.
AmAjOrNeWb posted a topic in Student Role Playing[OOC: Be warned. I am rusty like a Kansas pickup.] Wow! I'm the first one here. Great...first one the first day and so everyone is going to think I'm the pet. They'll only notice my hand-me-down shoes and tattered jacket. They won't even think of getting to know me before jumping in with insults. I bet even the teacher will laugh at the jokes, she's already looking at me in that weird adult way. I'm such a dunce sometimes; I should have waited in the bathroom until SOMEONE else showed up. This seat is so uncomfortable. Grimy blue plastic with a chipped and faded fold over desk, and such a friendly reminder etched into the particle board "These are the best days of your life," followed of course, by the Jolly Roger. I wish I was home schooled. No having to meet new people, no fake smiles, no secret tears. I hate this place already. Maybe if I start drawing the others will just leave me alone. Unzipping his backpack the awkward, lonely looking young man removes his supplies. A notebook and a finely sharpened, black, number two pencil. It's important to note the point is pristine, perfection is never compromised. And he begins to draw. The basics an oval, with what looks like the beginning of a neck and tail protruding. Two large arches placed high above the back. His pencil moves silently, his hand never making a move which was not sactioned by his mind. Never before has anyone been more calm, more focused, more assured. He is completely lost in thought and does not even notice the teacher exiting the room. He has solitude. [OOC: Again rusty, but I think it can be worked with. Any advice is appreciated as are compliments. If we compliment each other on good posts and offer friendly advice for the others, we could bring about an incredible community. Bring it on oldies, I can take the punishment.]
Some time ago she had entered through the fragile grandiose glass doors. Time of being unused has taken its deadly toll on the building. Once a welcoming home, the hotel has decayed into ruins. Stepping around a pile of rubble near the old sign in desk she found a book lying there, decrepit and barely legible. As gentle as possible the visitor opened the book at the entry log and ran her fingers down the page. A distinct hand stood out to her. A slender finger traced the name in remembrance. Underneath her fingertips in faded ink lay her own name; Raine Bellereace. Her thoughts had swirled back to the day she first signed in. It was here that she met her closest friends. How long ago had that been? Months? Years? She could hardly remember anymore. Shaking the memories’ cobwebs from her mind’s eye Raine focused on the place in front of her. It would take a bit of cleaning up if she planned to restore this building back to its original glory. She pulled her long wavy brown hair up into a delicate ballerina bun and started right at the information desk. A broom, dustpan and a rag had been waiting to be used it seemed. Working as diligently as she could to get things set she had come across several oddities, hotel keys to be exact. When her fingered brushed against the cool metals images of different lands clouded her mind. It had seemed that the hotel had its own way of improving as well. Now all that was left was the grand opening. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Come one, come all, students and graduates alike. Enter into a world where fantasy and reality collide. This is a revamp of the S*T hotel for those of you who happen to remember. If you don’t remember it’s alright, if you never had the chance to join it’s ok, if you have no idea what I am babbling about we still encourage you to join us. In my endeavors back to this particular memory lane I have encountered several artifacts; keys to be exact. These keys must have room keys for the hotel at one point but oddly none of them appear the same. What I did find out though is that these keys have gained a rather interesting power thanks to the magic of S*T that has preserved them and redesigned them. I have discovered that each key leads to a different dimension. The key you choose is completely up to you. By choosing your hotel key you are brought to a dimension based on your preferred style of rping. You will have a friendly scholar join you on your adventures. We are there to nudge you along, assist you when you are stuck, to simply play along with you and students we are there to help you graduate. Sadly though as it may be this is a work in progress. Any and all ideas are welcome. Currently the room keys are as follows (images may be added either here or in the beginning post): Clockwork key – steampunk/industrial Keyblade – fantasy Rusty key – historical Housekey – reality/present day Cybernetic key – sci-fi/mecha/futuristic Destroyed key – apocalyptic These are based more so on locations of where these genres may be placed than the content. Please let me know here or in PM if I have left any out or you are confused as to where a particular genre may go. Romance is allowed in all dimensions, battles are allowed in all dimensions, adventure/quests are allowed in all dimensions. All that I ask is that you remain courteous to your fellow members. I hope to see all of your RSVPs soon to the grand opening.
