  1. It is said that in ancient times our world, Gaia was a harsh and unforgiving place. In this time it was not our kind who ruled, but the beasts. In this time our kind, humans lived among the creatures of Gaia. To survive we had to live from the land, hunting creatures smaller and weaker than ourselves. In time, as our species grew and obtained knowledge, we learned how to manipulate the land. With care we treated the earth with water and seed, so that vegetation would grow just as we intended. We discovered that from nature’s elements we could craft tools to help us hunt, and grow, and build. We began to prosper, no longer merely surviving. Finally we began to live. In time humanity grew to heights beyond our imagination. The more we learned of our world, the more we discovered how to harness it’s power for our own gain. Science became our ideology, and technology our tool. We became so knowledgeable of our world that we learned the replicate the natural occurrences of our world, focusing and harnessing them to our own specifics and standards. Through our knowledge we have become the uncontested rulers of our world, we shape it as we see fit, and not even the sky is beyond our limitations. In time other races followed similar paths, and we were joined by the proud and strong Komoda, the swift and valiant Lepan, the sneaky and resourceful Roden, and the strange and elusive Laxi. With such races joining our society, our culture shifted and blossomed, incorporating the vast talents of diversity. Yet there is a part of our history that has become almost lost to us. For when humanity first began to understand nature, there were those who led the way. People with greater knowledge and understanding of nature, of the elements. Such people understood the intricate foundations of nature, and were able to harness it’s power through sheer will, using a strange and mystical art known as Alchemy. These Alchemists, harnessing the very power of nature as an extension of themselves, paved the way for humanity. Through their understanding humanity established it’s own, baser knowledge of the world’s machinations, and through their tutelage alone were we able to survive as long as we have. And when war inevitably reared it’s ugly head, it was the Alchemist who settled the great battles, using their awesome power to cease all threats. And so the Alchemists became our protectors, our leaders. Yet as our knowledge grew and we gained our own prosperity, the power of the Alchemists became less needed, and soon their numbers dwindled, until their existence almost disappeared into legend. Yet one man lives to prove their existence is more than mere legend. King August Vermillion Rhapsody, ruler of the lands of Velice, residing in the great city of Fortuna. Also known by his other title – The Branded King. King August and his family are the last of the Alchemists, and his power is the greatest of them all. For the needs of Alchemy have dwindled, and even among those able, the desire to learn has faded. Yet the loss of ancient practices is, perhaps not something to be mourned. For science has brought us power beyond that of Alchemists. With technology we not only shape the world, but shape ourselves, becoming faster, stronger, and capable of things that were never thought possible. The time of Alchemy has ended, now that all of humanity can become Gods. The sky above Fortuna was cloudy, but streaks of sunlight cut through in places and provided a comfortable warmth to the city. In the lower districts, where the narrow streets were darkened by tall buildings towering above street level, the people seemed in quite a hurry. All manner of race were out in force, preparing for this very day. It was the annual Reverance Festival, where the city of Forrtuna celebrated the anniversary of its founding. Many had taken the day off work, and others were busy setting up stalls to sell their wares during the event. Sparkling lights littered the streets as old and young all wore crowns and hats decorated with tacky, multi-coloured lights that were always worn during the festival. In the higher reaches of the city, in the various plazas, street performers juggled batons of fire to the audible gasps of the rapidly growing crowds. A parade of floats made its way through the wider streets, led by a smartly dressed troupe, each playing musical instruments, while their leader twirled a baton as he marched ahead. Each float was decorated in a different way. Some were shaped like the various native beasts of Velice, others decorated with beautiful floral arrangements, and yet more were dedicated to various companies, projects and art commissions made specially for the event. The crowd marveled at the life-like spectacle that led the floats. It was a giant stage with three enormous dancers, who were not real, of course, but rather were being projected by a series of bright blue laser-lights, their forms visible even in the light of day. The people roared and cheered as the floats passed them by, and watched intently until they moved out of sight. Then they continued on their way, towards Rhapsody Stadium, where a concert would be held, along with a speech from King Augustus Rhapsody himself. Yet the concert would not begin until nightfall, and King Rhapsody was far from the cheering crowds, up in the highest reaches of Fortuna, in the large palace that stood as the jewel at the top of the city. Augustus was walking the across the sprawling balconies that looked down on the city below, but his attention was focused on the tablet in his hand. He scrolled through streams of text and graphs, sighing to himself in frustration. The King looked to be in his late 50’s but in truth he was significantly older. He was a tan skinned man with a wrinkled, tired face. He had a thick head of jet black hair with thick wisps of silver, and a short goatee shaped to a point. He was dressed in a black and white pinstripe suit, with a red shirt and a black ascot tie with intricate, red floral patterns woven in to the silk. His dull gray-blue eyes scanned the contents of his device and he let out another frustrated sigh. “Sire?” The man next to him was younger, in his late 30’s. He had tidy, blonde hair swept back over his head, and was dressed in an impeccable, white suit, with a black shirt, a thin white tie, and a red rose pinned to his lapel. He wore a pair of thin-framed sunglasses with red lenses, which seemed to occasionally streak with a fuzz of static on occasion. “Speak, Lyude.” The King replied, not looking away from the screen. “Perhaps if you allow me, Sire…” He said, holding out his hand. The King glanced at him for a moment with a frown, and then he let out a resigned sigh and handed the tablet to his younger companion. “Let’s see then.” Lyude said as he ran his gloved hands over the device. He made a few swiping gestures, removing sections he deemed unimportant, and then he made another few taps and smiled, pleased with himself. “I think we should be okay. If you move your meeting with Duke Archibald to after the ceremony then that should free up enough time to take care of your other duties, no?” “Archibald has been requesting a meeting for months.” The King said, shaking his head. “I can’t make him wait any further. He wants to discuss the trade disputes going on with Avara at the moment. You know he has a firm stance on employment, and this dispute is costing jobs.” “Wouldn’t that be the responsibility of the Foreign Trade Council, Sire?” Lyude asked. “Yes, but they keep dodging his requests for talks. He knows they wouldn’t ignore a direct request from me.” The King Replied “Well, that is quite the conundrum. However, the responsibility does lie with the FTC. If he wishes to raise issues he should be taking it up with the Internal Inquiries Division, surely?” “Yes…but he’s an old friend and…” The King sighed. “…it’s fine. Reschedule his meeting until after the ceremony. I have a duty to my people, first and foremost.” “As you say, Sire.” Lyude replied with a smile and a nod, and he went to work tapping away on the tablet again. The King allowed him, glad to have the blasted thing out of his hands for a moment. He looked out at his city from the balcony, and watched as hundreds of balloons rose up over the skyscrapers. He smiled contently. His work had become tiring of late, but he reminded himself that he would always endure, for the sake of his people. He turned back to Lyude. “And what of my son?” He asked “Prince Oranyx remains locked up in his chambers, Sire.” Lyude said with a soft sigh. “I fear he is not in the mood for the festivities today.” “His mood is irrelevant.” The King growled in annoyance. “He has a responsibility. I am tired of his childish attitude.” “Well he is only a boy, Sire.” Lyude commented with a sympathetic smile. “He’s 18, and that’s a man in my eyes.” The King replied. “Does he not answer his summons at all?” “Rather he says nothing, Sire.” Lyude replied. “Probably playing that game I should imagine.” “Blast it!” The King snapped, and he whirled around on the spot, marching back down the balcony and into the palace corridors, with Lyude hurriedly chasing after him. “Sire, we have to-“ “Quiet!” The King snarled. “I am sick and tired of this nonsense! The boy has no respect!” They continued down the corridor and then down two flights of steps, all the while the King’s anger bubbled beneath the surface. Finally they came to the door of the Prince’s bedroom and the King pulled open the door and marched inside. “Oranyx, now you listen to me, I-“ The King stopped. Sat on the edge of his bed, Prince Oranyx sat dressed in a pair of skinny, black jeans, and a plain gray t-shirt. He had a pair of headphones sat over his thick, messy-but-stylish, black hair. Over his eyes was a transluscent laser-light visor with streams of data and imagery flashing over it. The Prince was engrossed in the game he was playing, his thumbs twiddling over the controller he held between them. With a furious growl his father charged towards him, snatching the visor from his face and throwing it against the wall, shattering it. “Wh- Hey!” Prince Oranyx gasped as he blinked, looking at his broken visor with sheer outrage. “What the hell, dad!?” He added. “People have been calling for you for hours!” The King yelled. “And here I find you playing that…that stupid game!” “Only you think it’s stupid!” Oranyx bit back. “I suppose you’d rather I play your stupid game, then?” “Your responsibility to this city is not a game Oranyx.” The King replied. “NYX!” The Prince yelled so loud that it echoed through the corridors outside of his room. “I’ve told you a thousand times to stop calling me that! It’s just Nyx, okay?” “And I’ve told you that Oranyx is your name, like it or not. It was your grandfather’s name.” The King said testily. “Well you should have let him keep it.” Nyx replied, rolling his eyes. “Now get out of my room.” “I think you will find this is my room, young man.” The King replied with a frown. “As is every room in this entire palace.” “Oh here we go again!” Nyx yelled. “Yeah, yeah, it’s all yours dad. That’s great. Well why don’t I just get the hell out of your way then?” “That is not what I meant!” The King snapped back. He sighed, trying to calm himself. “Look, son, today is an important day for Fortuna. I only ask that you get dressed and come with me to the ceremony. The people expect to see you there.” “Yeah?” Nyx replied, scowling. “And what about what I want? I couldn’t care less about about this stupid festival.” “Ora-“ The King stopped himself. “…Nyx. You must understand that, while it can be hard, there are expectations of you as a Prince. You are my only son, and I have know that you have your father’s strength. One day you will lead these people, it’s important that you come to know them.” “I already know them better than you do.” Nyx said, shaking his head. “I’d be down there with them all right now if you’d only let me.” “You know I cannot just let you wander the city on your own like that, we’ve been over this. You are the Prince and-“ “Well maybe I don’t want to be the Prince!” Nyx interrupted. “Did you ever think about that, dad? I don’t want any of this! I just want to be a regular kid, all right?” “Son…” The King said softly, he looked hurt by Nyx’s words. “Please…I know you don’t mean that.” “Yes I do.” Nyx replied, getting off of his bed and pushing past his father. He slipped on a pair of black leather boots lined with three buckles on each calf. Then he opened his wardrobe and pulled out a thin, black jacket, with silver buttons over the lapels, and silver pendant of a lion’s head attached to the front zip. He zipped up the jacket and put on a pair of blue-lensed sunglasses. “I’m out of here.” He said as he went for the door. “Now just stop this right-“ The King began “Leave me alone!” Nyx snarled before quietly adding, “…I hate you.” As he left his room, and his father, who stood frozen by the pain and shock of his words, which had cut him deeper than any sword. Nyx took off down the corridor until he reached the spiral staircase at the end and began to descend them. As he reached the bottom he noticed two of the King’s guards advancing up towards them. They were Laxi. They stood taller than humans, and their flesh was protected by a hard carapace shell that covered their entires bodies. The colour of the shell was a combination of oily black with patches of sickly yellow. Each of their six eyes were entirely black, maing it impossible to tell if they were looking directly at your or not. The moved towards him without words, not unlike them. The Laxi were excellent guards, unquestioning, hard-working and efficient. As they met him on the stairs they reached out to grab them, but Nyx was ready. He leapt on to the railing of the staircase to avoid the first lunge at him, and quickly rebounded off again as the other reached for him. He landed on the stairs behind them and began sprinting hurriedly down the stairs. Unfortunately with their long legs the Laxi were also quite fast. They gained on him in no time as he reached the next floor and sprinted along the corridor. On the long, straight sprint his pursuers held the advantage and managed to grab him by the arms, holding him tight. “Let me go!” He yelled angrily. “Apologies, young Master.” One of the Laxi said, there voice was strange to hear, you could hear a buzzing vibration behind it. “All the guards have been instructed not to let you leave the Palace unattended again.” “I’m not leaving the palace, I was just going to get some food from the kitchens.” Nyx protested “Apologies, young Master, but we will not fall for that one again.” The other Laxi replied. “Ugh…fine.” Nyx said with a sigh. Then a slight smirk spread across his face, a capricious glint in his eyes. He felt a prickle on the back of his neck as he activated his power. From his jeans pocket two thin wires of metal shot out like a snake, and coiled itself around the feet of the two Laxi, wrapping tight and binding them together, until they both stumbled to the floor and let go of him. Nyx let out a mad chuckle and stepped away from them. “Sorry, didn’t want to have to resort to that!” He said with a grin. “Later!” He added with a wave, then he ran off down the corridor once more. By the time he breached the palace doors he had 5 more guards sprinting after him shouting and hollering. He ran past one of the waiting staff who was carrying a metal tray of plates and cups across the garden. As he passed her he grabbed the metal tray, and the woman shrieked as her tray morphed from it’s original state in Nyx’s hands, and by the time he hurled it at the floor behind him, the tray had shattered into a mess of shiny, metal ball bearings that rolled across the ground behind him. The guards tried to stop but they could not in time, and slipped over the ball bearings, crashing in a heap on the ground. Finally Nyx reached the enormous, metal grates that were closed and barred, blocking his way into the city. He gripped the gates in his hand and the metal re-shaped as he willed it to, creating foot holds up the bars for him to climb. As he scrambled up the gate the footholds disappeared behind him, until he reached the top and vaulted over it, landing with a thud on the either side. He quickly picked himself up and dusted off his jeans. With a final smirk he looked back at the guard who were stuck on the other side of the gate. He pulled his headphones over his head and gave them a final, casual salute, before turning and disappearing into the city.
  2. It had already been more than three weeks since Regalia, running out of resources on her own, went in search of those who might aid her in the search for her lost comrades. As such, she had formed a hodgepodge group of people, the only ones who would even do so much as to humor and join her. Whether for their own goals or not, Regalia didn't care if they were in the group to benefit themselves, or just kill time. Any help was welcomed as long as it brought her closer to her goal. Standing at the edge of a cliff which had they'd been directed to before leaving town, Regalia sighed. She looked about from the vantage point and knew very well there was nothing even remotely close to the Synth in this densely mountainous terrain. One male human, one female healer, and one obligatory man in robs that no one in the group was quite sure about. He didn't say much, aside from the occasional quip for laughs, usually for his own amusement and more than just occasionally. It was just about the only thing he did. With his hooded robe, and a half-face mask, the man was quite the mystery. Any attempt to speak of himself was quickly, and rather skillfully side stepped, though sometimes obvious. Regalia saw through it, but eventually stopped inquiring. It wasn't worth the time doing it herself anymore, especially when the other two prodded enough as it was. Still, the man didn't let on anything, save that his name was Tayel. He claimed to know the lay of the land quite well and, despite his rather shady personage, he was true to his word. Their trip to the peaks of the canyons were made much easier by his keen knowledge. Regalia finally stepped away from the edge, brushing her long silver hair back from where the wind had blown, and sat on a large boulder. Her voice, the resonant lilt softened by the wind, rang out on the harsh terrain as she spoke to her current companions. "Well, I don't believe we will find anything useful here. as far as I can tell, there wouldn't be any way to safely traverse this area even if we there was. That aside, I believe that the other side of these mountains is occupied by the demons. It wouldn't be a fantastic experience running into them during a search," she said, straightening the nomadic cloak idly. "It'd be something all right, having an encounter with them. But hey! If you wanna turn back here, we can always take a trip to Raxtin rather than going to Phaim. This mountain range is the dividing border after all," Tayel said, using his hands as he spoke to hid his knowledge that demons lived close by there as well. Regalia considered this. The names of countries and continents were all new to her, and even if she could see an old map of the area, she probably wouldn't be able to make any kind of real correlation because of the drastic changes. She looked over to the other two and asked, "What do you think? I've no problems if it leads me closer, but you might have conflicting thoughts about going out of the country." (Sorry about the obvious exposition. I didn't work very hard to cover it up or progress the story. Still figuring things out really.)
  3. Plot: Your character(s) and Emily Darrell are exploring the rumored location of an extraterrestrial artifact supposedly discovered and worshipped by an indigenous tribe. According to sparse legends and anecdotes, the artifact granted the tribe's leaders them a far-advanced knowledge of technology, enabling them to plan advanced structures, predict the weather, and heal sickness. However, the tribe is described as having went extinct for unknown reasons and practically nothing about them is known, to the extent that the most prominent historians and archaeologists consider the legends surrounding the tribe to be complete falsehood. The theory of the "lost tribe" and their artifact is supported by the existence of a small lake - a "pond" much deeper than it appears - with radioactivity and unique cyanobacteria believed to have originated from an asteroid strike. Additionally, two interesting artifacts were recovered from the Pacific ocean: a stone tablet with etchings filled with gold, and a solid-gold tablet with uniform circular cut-outs. Both items are rumored to be parts from an ancient computer - a bus and punch card of sorts - estimated to have originated from the coast of Alaska. Coincidentally, the artifacts were reportedly lost at sea off the coast of New Zealand (conveniently in proximity to the Bougainville Trench...), en-route to an Australian lab to be carbon-dated, and were not known to be recovered. Setting: Alaskan Aleutian Islands, present day. Temps are in the mid 40s and there is rain this time of year. RP Expectation: I'm aiming for a Tomb Raider/X-Files level of realism, which can still include a lot of Sci-Fi elements. Ideally, we can post every 1-3 days, and I'd prefer a few short paragraphs or a single large paragraph. The rolling and pitching of the small ship made sleeping easy for Emily. For the others? Their mileage may vary...Hopefully, though, they were well-rested as they had a long day ahead of them. Emily was awakened by the vibration of her phone between the mattress and bunk frame and though the ship's interior was cold and dark, she didn't delay quietly getting out of the bed. The tiniest amount of moonlight shown through the porthole so the room wasn't completely black and she didn't bother with a flashlight. Being the prepared person she was, she had laid her clothing out the evening before and was able to dress in the almost-dark except her shoes. For now, she could scuff around the ship in her slippers. The hinges of the door of the sleeping quarters made a shrill squeal as she opened it - she forgot it did that - but on her way out, toiletry bag and a journal in-hand, she wore a determined knitted brow as she closed it as slowly and softly as possible. After she brushed her teeth, tossed a few handfuls of nearly-freezing water on her face, and threw her hair back into a ponytail, she went to the galley to prepare a bowl of oatmeal - unsweetened, save a handful of berries - and eat it while studying maps and the day's itinerary with the ceiling lamp swaying gently overhead. It wasn't often Emily took off on a "flight of fancy" trip based on info that was practically a possible hoax. Practically every surface feature of every inch of the earth had been mapped with a satellite, so she was skeptical that they would find any ruins or "lost"-anything. She would consider the trip a success if even a fragment of the lost tribe's civilization were recovered. At the very worst, it was a sight-seeing voyage. It was difficult enough finding someone who would drive their small ship to the location. Local fishermen weren't as critical of her motives as she expected the scientific and archaeological communities to be, but many questioned her and suggested she was just a silly girl for wanting to do such a thing. Today, they were going to hike toward the pond for five miles, then set up a base camp and begin surveying for possible places to dig. The forecast reported damp, rainy weather, which tended to make the cool temperature soak in even more; Emily advised everyone to bring wool, wool, and more wool to stay warm. The boat was returning in a week and nobody should get frostbite during that time. Until then, they were on the island with no cell coverage and very spotty radio, but everyone would have a two-way radio. EDIT: The types of characters I'm looking for this RP are pretty open, but some tropes might be adventurer, action-geek, I'm-just-an-intern, stubborn skeptic, conspiracy theorist, or a poseur survivalist. If you're interested in it but need additional information PM me and I can add it. I'm sort of new at creating new RPs so I'm probably missing things.
  4. Wasted Safety

"War... is nice. War is a simple thing. You have allies and enemies, and civilians. You protect the civilians, you kill the enemies, you follow your orders... your commanding officer's orders nearly get you killed. Then, if somehow your squad survives long enough, your commanding officer gets promoted despite being a moron" That's a bit of satire soldiers used to share over the dinner table. Not anymore though. Most people don't even know what satire is. They literally don't know the meaning of the word. And they don't bother to find out either. They weren't always like this though. Used to be that society was a very controversial argumentative thing. There was tell of a thing called opinions, which would spark said arguments all the time. People thinking they were right, other people trying to prove them wrong. Eventually the latter would give up because usually the former were too stupid and stubborn to admit to their mistake. Most people would say that's bad. But is it worse than how it is now? Who knows. Not a lot of the ones from those times are alive to remember and complain how things used to be better. Now the young inherit what's left of the world while the old sit back in their rickety chairs in the dark, mumbling to each other. But who cares about the old anyway? Nobody, that's who. So let's look at young ones. One example would be Colonel Gilmore Floyd. Don't let the rank fool you, it just means he's a slice above the rest. It doesn't really mean anything but it's meant to make people feel good about themselves. Plus, military service is always good if you want a special privilege or two here and there. But let's not digress more than we have already. His more or less easy, patrol, peace-keeping, etc. And it just so happened that today, he had to interrogate a bunch of prisoners they had captured. Insurgents or raiders or something. Not that there's really a difference. He put on his jacket and his cap and left his office at the military camp where he worked. It was more of a booth to be frank but anyways. He went to the interrogation cage where most prisoners are put in temporary confinement. In reality it was an old zoo cage with a bit of newspaper padding on the ground and barbed wire horizontally wound around the bars due to cutbacks. Not that anyone seemed to complain. Aside from the prisoners themselves, of course.

    And so, Manifest Destiny propels the ego of man to the stars. Theme Song: Pet Earth has been ravaged by the fallout of Nuclear War. In 2016, Russian ran a gambit in order to gain the upper hand in the beginning months of World War III. Operation Hyperion was engaged. Sleeper operatives in high-ranking government positions managed to get ahold of our launch codes and set off the charges while they were still in the silo. However, due to the installment of CEP (Clean Energy Plants) production of a national electric grid, FEMA, and the covert construction of large Mech suits, resting on the seaboards of the Pacific and Atlantic ocean, only the Eastern half of the states were destroyed. In the aftermath, Prometheus, the world’s leading educational academy located in sector Z-0014 adjusted their academic infrastructure to train the brightest soldiers. Orbiting Mars, the space station holds roughly 2000 (students and staff included), has been likened to Guantanamo Bay for its intense and rigorous curriculum focused primarily on espionage and piloting Mech suits. These young students serve as the first defense of an immediate attack from the deep regions of space. To harness the full potential of these suits, a private contractor has dispatch a small team of scientist and mercenaries to Hüeifrdor, where they trawl among the preserved remains of its civilization for the technology to reverse the nuclear damage. What they find, instead, is the what many consider the origin of the “god particleâ€. The team, broken in Alpha and Omega, took half the cache to Earth and the other half to Prometheus, unwittingly awakening its ancient guardians. In the battle for Earth, the lines between allies and enemies blur and the black seeds of our undoing are sowed. {The setting:} Washington, DC 2060 –post-fallout of 2016 Hyperion attack {The Status on Earth:} entire East coast lies in ruins. A nuclear warhead detonated in an unspecified US facility located in Nevada region. Charged was detonated in silo. Everything (including parts of Canada) until Milwaukee, WI is the charred remains of a civilization. Major organizations are now based elsewhere with primary operations now located in Hawaii and Alaska. FEMA and CDC merged into a new organization called D³ (pronounced D-3. abbrev. Disease, Disaster, Destruction Depot) that is now considered the new legislative of government. The lines of War has been drawn on the Prime Meridian – passing through the Royal Observatory, Greenwich, England – the established position of 0° longitude. Both African and Canada have suffered the immediate effects of the fallout, enough to align themselves with the broken Americas. This shift of power has allowed the re-establishment of USSR and tentative alliance between the Japanese have been broker. With the exception of a few scattered militias, most of the standing world has chosen to take a neutral stance. {Hüeifrdor:} Data on the free-floating planet is still being compiled and sent to NASA. A small team privately financed by D³ has been compiled, reporting directly to their private subsidiary Titan Tech. Its core researchers brilliant minds cultivated at Prometheus, protected by mercenaries. OTS 50 is considered equate 12 Earth masses, and therefore, will eventually form a mini-planetary system. Charted at sixteen light years away, it does not appear to have a sun, but does have three exomoons. Temperatures often reach 192° C, rains diamonds (converts into nuclear energy) and has an atmosphere composed almost entirely of oxygen. Information on this planet has not been made available to the public. {Prometheus:} A station orbiting high above Earth’s moon. Considered the premier academy of pilot and espionage training, although it’s methods of education has been equated to Guantanamo Bay. It stands as the first and only defense against possible extraterrestrial entry into our atmosphere. Current capacity: 2,851 applicants, of which on five hundred will emerge victorious. Role Selection: I am looking for writers who can play two characters with ease; I, myself, will be playing an undergraduate of Prometheus Academy and a Linguistics expert. There is no limit to how many secondary characters can be introduced, but there is a limit on the primary characters I’m accepted. Open slots are listed: (2/2) Earth-bounds / (1/1) Prometheus / (2/2) Hüeifrdor Interested? Include the following: Character Sheet: {Name, Age, Height, Weight, Melee Attacks, Weapons Classifications, Specials, Occupation (Primary/Secondary), Detailed Biography, Theme Song and Realistic/Illustrative Face Claim.}

In fact, that Mayan prophecy hadn't even predicted the end of the world to begin with; quite a few long-dead astronomers must have been spinning in their graves. However, what the prophecy had predicted was the end of an era and a transition to the next. Well, that actually happened. At first, the change was nearly imperceptible. Just a few isolated incidents of animals disappearing, inexplicable tremors, out-of-season weather and the like. However, as the portents increased in frequency and more and more strange things came crawling out of the woodwork, the truth began to emerge -- there was more than just a grain of truth to the tall tales of magic and monsters in mankind's collective memory. Magic and the supernatural were indubitably, sometimes terrifyingly real, something made all too clear when a botched assassination attempt revealed the newly-elected governor of California to be a dragon in disguise. Something had been keeping the influence of the supernatural from influencing human society, but it seems to have failed, giving supernatural beings -- now dubbed the Others -- free rein to enter the world. The world's governments responded swiftly, leading to the establishment of the Thulsson Foundation, an international paramilitary organization dedicated to monitoring, and if need be, eliminating Others. The year is now 2015. The Thulsson Foundation has recently started offering considerable rewards for subduing dangerous Others deemed a threat to humanity, with lethal force if need be. Unbeknownst to the unsuspecting directors of the Foundation, most their new recruits are actually Others as well, and a good portion of the remainder are receiving help from them. Well, takes a crook to catch a crook, I guess. Character Guidelines: - The tech level's around that the present day, but the appearance of the Others has hastened development in many fields of technology, most notably the ones that help kill people better. Fancy sci-fi gizmos like bionics, energy weapons, artificial intelligence and giant self-aware death robots with energy weapons are starting to enter production in limited quantities. - The Others are a catch-all term for any being with a connection to the supernatural – everything from human psychics and wizards to more inhuman creatures like vampires, were-creatures or other otherworldly beings are categorized as Others. Basically, just about anything goes when it comes to characters. Provided you aren't, like, the Corpse-God of All That Is Unholy Made Flesh or something blatantly story-breaking like that. For simplicity, Others based on mythology have most of the strengths and weaknesses associated in them in myth (e.g. Vampires lose their powers in sunlight). Others of non-human stock lived in an alternate magical world until 2012, when the force barring their return was removed. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The skyscraper that housed the regional headquarters of the Thulsson Foundation was a stark modern edifice of steel and glass, an environment that made Luke feel terribly ill at ease. He would have been far happier amidst the rolling hills and pastoral tranquillity of home, far from this ugly, chaotic, cacophonic jungle of soulless concrete, swarming commuters and cold iron; still, a job was a job. You couldn’t fill your stomach on warm, fuzzy nostalgia after all. He approached the door of the Director’s Office and knocked, and unbidden, the doors swung open on their own, beckoning him into the office. “Good afternoon, Mr… O’Brien? Is that how I should address you?†A congenial-looking middle-aged man in an immaculate suit addressed him. Franz Stroheim, the regional director of the Thulsson Foundation, humanity’s best hope against the Others. Kinda shorter than I expected, though. “Luke will do,†he said with a smile as he shook the man’s extended hand; it felt slightly cold to the touch. “Pleased to meet you.†“Have a seat. Let’s get down to business, shall we?†Franz said, gesturing at the chair placed before his desk. “There’s an Other I’d like you to kill. A vampire by the name of Anton Witiezslav. He’s a local crime kingpin, but the police can’t lay a hand on him even if they tried. He’s probably bled dry almost a hundred people by now.†“How refreshingly straightforward,†Luke replied. “Sounds like a tall order even for me. A hundred people, really?†“Which is why you won’t be doing it alone,†Franz said reassuringly, patting him on the shoulder. “A number of other… operators have expressed interest as well; my sources tell me they’re every bit as qualified as you are. They should be arriving at the reception hall downstairs around now.â€
  7. NC-17 Fandom Plots (MxF)

Hello everyone, Celtic here! This is my first time posting a request thread here on this site and I'm hoping to find any detailed partners to write with. I consider myself semi-literate and I usually post two decent size paragraphs or more. Um, as the title states, I'm only interested in fandoms for now and I can play both Canons and OCs. My pairing preferences are as followed (YOU X ME): Canon x OC, Canon x Canon, and maybe OC x OC. Also just to give you guys a heads up, I'm not interested in any anime/manga, video-games, furries, and incest. Hmm, what else... I do love romance in all my plots/settings, but I do LOVE me some good ol' fashion action and adventure, too. Well, I believe that's it! If you like to know more about what I'm looking for in a partner or about me, feel free to stop by and drop me a PM. :) So to get this thing started, I already have some plots in mind: The Dark Knight Trilogy: Idea 1. My character is a new staff member and this is her first year working at Arkham Asylum and she is in charge of Dr. Jonathan Crane. During their time together, Crane starts to slowly manipulate her and manages to get my character to work for him. (We can add more to this plot.) Idea 2. My character is the youngest daughter of Jim Gordon and she's an detective who is on the hunt for Dr. Crane. Immediately when they come face to face for the first time, Crane is already obsessed with my character. She is then rescued by Batman (who returns after five years) and asks him if he could teach her how to fight crime like he does. (Again we can add more.) Enchanted: Idea 1. This follows the same basic story line from the film. Prince Edward goes to find Giselle, but meets an entirely different woman (my OC) and he falls in love with her. But this time he's stuck in New York and he can't go back to Andalasia, and so my character helps him make a living in the real world. Idea 2. My character is sort of like a ranger/huntsman and she is sent to New York by the evil queen to bring back Prince Edward and to kill Giselle instead of Nathaniel. (We can add more.) Ghost Adventures: The Ghost Adventures crew is investigating the abandoned Costello Grand Hotel in Manhattan, New York to investigate the claims of people seeing multiple apparitions, hearing voices, and possible demonic attacks and possessions. Upon arrival, the trio meets up with their client Susan Harrow a former maid who worked in the hotel back in the early seventies, and tells them the story of a young woman who was found brutally murdered in the main part of the theater of the hotel back in 1936. Nobody knows for sure, but some say it’s Lucy Costello; the daughter of the original owner and mob leader, Jack ‘Uncle Jack’ Costello. Wanting to further investigate the story of Lucy, Zak desperately tries to reach out to her and finds he’s in for a big surprise. One moment he’s in the back part of the theater searching for any signs of the young woman, the next he finds himself transported back to the year of 1936. Hairspray: Idea 1. My character is a twenty-two-year-old independent singer and songwriter who travels to Baltimore, Maryland. She comes across an old abandoned studio building that once aired the popular 6o's tv program: The Corny Collins Show. The next day, she wakes up and finds herself in the year of 1963. (I'm looking for someone to play Corny Collins for me.) Idea 2. My character is the oldest and quite ordinary sister of Amber Von Tussle who works with her mother on the set of the Corny Collins Show. She can't sing and can't dance, but she can paint! Her dream is to travel all over the world to study and paint abroad, but her mother won't have it; and so she's stuck being Amber's and her mother's assistant. The only person that truly makes her happy is Corny, but unfortunately he just sees her as a friend, until he meets my character's new boyfriend and he seems to be a little jealous for some reason. Indiana Jones: The year is 1940 and somebody has stolen the Crown Jewels and the MI5 are baffled. One day Dr. Jones receives a wire from the British Embassy stating the MI5 needs his help. Of course he has no interest in the case until one of their secret agents; a beautiful English woman meets Indy in person. She says he's the only one who can help them find the culprit since the thief left a hidden/coded message only Indy could decipher. The message is written in a dead language. Now he must travel to England with the stunning woman and help the agency before it's too late. Lord of the Rings: Idea 1. My character is a 28-year-old woman who works at the Smithsonian Institution and it's her first day on the job. She comes across a rather unique necklace that the curators still have not yet identified where it originally came from. The moment she touches it, she is transported into another world where fantasy-like creatures are real and dark forces are soon closing in. While exploring, she finds herself in a village called Meduseld and soon meets the handsome Rohirrim King. (This takes place a couple of years after the ring is destroyed and we can add more ideas to this.) Idea 2. My character is the younger daughter of Lord Elrond and decides against her father's wishes to live among Men. She travels to Edoras and soon becomes close friends with Eowyn and becomes the girl's lady-in-waiting. But the fair maiden's brother is not too thrilled of the idea of having an elf living under their roof. But in time he learns to soften up and starts falling in love with my character. Idea 3. My character is a beautiful Haradrim slave who is secretly being put up for auction at the Gondorian market. She is noticed by King Eomer who is out visiting Aragorn and decides to buy her and to set her free. But by law, she can only be free if someone speaks to the Haradrim leader and offers him riches. So now she is the King's slave and not too happy about it. (We can definitely add more to this plot.) The Notebook: Idea 1. My character has just graduated from Stanford University and travels to New York City to work at the New York Times as a journalist. She receives a strange letter (that explains a family inheritance she's never even heard of) at her new apartment from a man who claims to be her maternal grandfather, and asks her to travel to Charleston, South Carolina to meet him. She meets him at a local elderly home and he tells her of an historical plantation plot that was her mother's childhood home and puts the house under my character's name, since he's dying and he can't take care of it anymore. Curious, she checks out the old home and comes across an old photo album with a picture of two young handsome men in late 40's attire. She clearly recognizes that one of them is her grandfather, the other... she has no idea who except for the man's first two initials: L.H. She wakes up the next day and decides to check out who this L.H. guy was when something impossible happens-- Why are people dressed like they were from the 40's, and what happened to everything else? She starts to freak out when she meets the very man she was going to research on. Idea 2. My character and Lon Hammond were close childhood friends until they grew apart and went on with their separate lives; he went off to war and she became a teacher. After the war was officially over, they accidentally ran to each other in their hometown of Charleston, South Carolina; both of them happily engaged. My character had always been very fond of Lon and was (secretly) hoping he would come back in her life and sweep her off her feet. But it seemed to her that he only thought of her as a sister than a significant other. But when she found out about Lon and Allie were not together anymore, she decided the best way to be there for a friend is to comfort him. Star Trek (Abrams-verse): Idea 1. My character is the daughter of Captain Christopher Pike and she has just recently been enrolled to Starfleet Academy alongside Kirk and McCoy. The trio becomes fast friends and they do everything together. But unfortunately, my character has a major crush on Bones and she's too nervous and shy to make the first move and/or share her true feelings to him. Also like my character, Bones has a hard time sharing his feelings too. (We can add more to this, but basically is set before the first film.) Idea 2. My character wakes up from a deep hibernation sleep and she finds herself in the year/stardate 2259.24. She has no idea where she's at except she's in space and on a ship called the Enterprise. She has no memory of her past except the year she was born in and the year she fell into a deep sleep. Something happened all those years ago on Earth, and my character is the last remaining link to the past. (Basically Bones helps my character and starts having feelings for her. We can add more to this. This will take place after Into Darkness.) Idea 3. Again, my character is the daughter of Captain Pike. She, McCoy, and other science officers are beamed down on a planet when they are soon ambushed by a tribe of natives. The group gets separated and my character and Bones are lost in the forest. They need to somehow find their way back to their rendezvous point without the use of their communicators and phasers. During that time they develop an interest with each other. (Again, we can add more to this plot.) Idea 4. The Enterprise crew is on a diplomatic mission to please a rich aristocrat/prince and offers him to become an ally for the Federation, but unfortunately the mission goes wrong and the man takes and enslaves the most beautiful female crew members including my character; who is the younger daughter of Admiral Marcus. In order to free the females, a male must choose which woman to fight for. Bones has always liked my character and so he fights in her honor to save her. (This will take place after Into Darkness.) Superman/Returns: Idea 1. My character is Lois Lane's younger sister and she now works at the Daily Planet as a journalist. Ever since meeting Lois's fiance Richard White she's develop a huge crush, but she has always been the shy one. Now it seems she has a chance with him since Superman has returned and Lois ended her engagement. But she may never be with Richard when she gets herself caught and experimented on and now she's a freak with superpowers. Idea 2. My character is a beautiful Kryptonian and she has been taken in and brain-washed by Lex Luthor. Her main goal is to kill Superman. (Christopher Reeve or Brandon Routh. We can add more to this.) X-Men: (These are all Cyclops x OC related, but I'm willing to double. I will also like to point out that I will never play as Emma Frost or any other female canons with Scott Summers. But I will play as Jean Grey/OC against him.) Idea 1. It's almost time for the year-end exams and every year, one of the top students gets to be paired up with an X-Men in order to pass their two-part exam (a mock-up simulation and first mission). My character is the 18 year-old-daughter of Mystique and Sabertooth and she has just learned that she'll be mentored by Cyclops. During their time together, they start to develop an intense (love/hate) relationship while he's still with Jean. (Cinematic Universe) Idea 2. After the 'death' of Jean, Cyclops leaves the X-Mansion and goes rogue and comes across a 'hitchhiker' (my character), who he later finds out she's a mutant bounty hunter. She decides to tag along for the fun of it, when she later learns that she has been betrayed by her own father William Striker. And now she's a fugitive and teams up with Cyclops for justice. (Cinematic or 90's) Idea 3. My character is a doctor/nurse who is a spitting image of Jean. She comes across Scott laying off shore and decides to take him to the hospital where she works. After waking up from a coma, he has no memory of himself being a mutant and being part of the X-Men. And, he can see without the use of his visor/glasses. The two fall in love and he's finally happy, until he starts to remember... Now, he must decide if he should stay with my character or go back to the person he once was in order to protect to her. (Cinematic Universe) Idea 4. The teenage X-Men has finally graduated from high school and now teachers themselves along with my character. It's been great until Jean starts to change into becoming the Phoenix and she has vanished. She shows up a few months later and has sided with a powerful mutant who wants to destroy all human kind and mutants who defy him. And now it's up to the young X-Men to stop him and their beloved friend. (Evolution) Idea 5. A Powerful mutant has the power to time-travel and he sends Cyclops and my character or Jean Grey back to a time period (your choice) and they have to find a way to get back to their own time. (Shows or films) Idea 6. Project X has just created another wolverine-like clone (my character) and her orders are to terminate Wolverine and the others. Can a certain team leader get through to her or will she forever be a cold-blooded murderer? (Cinematic or Evolution) Idea 7. Cyclops and Wolverine volunteer to go back in time and to try to stop Mystique from assassinating Trask. The two men gets separated and Cyclops ends up finding my character who is also a mutant (and a undercover agent) and the two fall in love. He has to decide if he should stay behind or take her back to his own time. But it will come with some severe consequences. (This will take place during DoFP and that Cyclops never died in Last Stand)
  8. The Mercs

[Hey guys, note, this isn't a game about a school... if anybody can let me know how to remove that tag (if that's even possible) I'd appreciate it.] [This story is set in the far future, on a planet that might as well be earth. The dense population gave rise to syndicates akin to that of Al Capone, making hired guns a respectable living. Your character is one such mercenary, invited to meet with other mercs in a old decrepit nuclear power plant outside of town. You'll meet your host for the night (employer), get eyes on the money (your pay), and start prepping for the job (with the other mercs being hired). Good luck, watch your head.] Louis approached the meet spot in a closed cabin auto-cycle. They hadn't been very specific over the throwaway communicator they had sent him, but in this business, sharing details got you killed. As the cycle slipped through the quiet urban streets, his playlist switched songs, which was a shame since that particular baroque happened to be one of his favorites. Not a moment too soon, the cycle decelerated, stopping at its destination at the foot of the old power plant. Large grey power coils jutted out of the ground, threatening to break through the dark storm clouds hovering above. He tapped off the speakers and slid on completely unnecessary, but nonetheless slick sunglasses, taking in the scene in front of him. A small white x was chalked into the concrete slab wall on the opposite side of the small clearing. As he scanned the area for any suspicious movement, Louis slid a handgun from the glovebox into his shoulder holster and unfolded his frame out of the cycle. After throwing on an overcoat, Louis walked along the edge of the clearing, keeping to the shadows. Leaning up against the wall, he waits for the rest of the party to arrive. To anybody perceptive enough to notice him, Louis would appear tall, a caucasian male with short brown hair, dark eyes, and neatly trimmed facial hair. Outfitted in a finely cut Italian suit, he's modestly built without appearing scrawny. He wears leather gloves, a grey fedora, and a black overcoat. The most skilled assasins will notice the slight buldge his firearm makes under his coat.
  9. [Discussion] Dragoons

Background Story My grandpa always used to say: “Who needs flavour text when you’ve got robots?†My grandpa was a genius. - Random passerby, 2075 Setting Hello freunden. This RP is a cyberpunk mecha series that rips off Gundam, Shadowrun and a little bit of Full Metal Panic. Due to advancements in technology there were several important breakthroughs that would eventually lead to the creation of the very first Dragoon. The Dragon was a gigantic mobile weapon created in the shape of a human being. Initially this was impractical, but the human urge to ride giant robots overtook common sense and a considerate amount of time and money was dedicated making the Dragoon work. Eventually they managed to miniaturize all the parts required for a fully functioning Dragoon, which in turn allowed them to make a smaller version. By 2040, many different corporations had started building their own kinds of Dragoons, whether under orders of one of the many nations or not, which eventually accumulated in the Great War of 2047. This Great War, sometimes referred to as World War III, took place in the Middle-East. A historical hotbed of military and terrorist activity which eventually caused the third world war and the biggest one the world had ever seen. And it took place with Dragoons. Almost every single nation of note had something at stake during this war and thousands upon thousands of Dragoons were deployed. Many nations did not even have the treasury required to afford purchasing these Dragoons, but with little choice they increased their put themselves in debt in order to be able to participate in the war. Eventually the war came of the an end, three years later, after both sides decided that it was pointless. At least, that is what they told the public. In truth, nearly every nation in the world had run through it’s treasury in the first month of the war. Dragoons were expensive and no one could really afford them. After three years of measuring who had the biggest dick, they decided that they had dug a hole deep enough to bury them and all of their families. Going on any longer than this would just be retarded. As if it wasn’t that already. The many corporations that produced Dragoons (a total of 12, at the time) basically owned every single nation of note between them. The debt the world had to these corporations was so large, that it would take centuries for them to pay it off if they had done so with their regular cash flow. Instead these 12 corporations managed to strike a deal with the nations. They managed to bargain extraterritorial status. Now, this wasn’t something that came easy. Many nations opposed it, lead mostly by the United States, but when these corporations were given extraterritorial status by the likes of Russia and China, those that opposed it had no choice. Either they gave in or their enemies in the previous war would receive weaponry far more advanced than they could even dream of. The wealth of these 12 corporations, henceforth known as the Mega Corporations, would lead to them buying huge plots of land over the entire world where they could basically do whatever they pleased. In their territories they were the law, the judge, the jury and the executioner and the morality of their host nations was of little concern to them. This lead to many Dragoons becoming easily purchasable by private owners. Even if owning a Dragoon was technically illegal in many countries, it was impossible to prevent. Many Dragoons fell into the hands of terrorists, wealthy criminals, nations deemed international threats and all kinds of unsavoury creatures who could inflict a massive amount of damage if they weren’t stopped. Luckily, not all Mega Corporations were bad. The Kaiju Zaibatsu, a Japanese Mega Corp named after the huge monsters that appear in movies like Godzilla, was one of the few with a functioning moral compass. Not only did they refuse to sell to those that were likely to commit heinous deeds using their machines, but they did something more important than that. In 2060 they formed Aegis, an NGO backed by the many nations that used to form the now defunct UN. Aegis was set up by the KaiZai, funded by the KaiZai and received additionally backing from almost every single nation. Aegis was tasked with rooting out the many problems that persisted in the world. While every nation had its own army outfitted with Dragoons, they decided to leave it to a singular entity to take care of the smaller problems that persisted on an international scale. While most nations were too busy posturing and showing off how awesome their army was, they also gave Aegis permission to operate freely within their territory so they never had to spend their own resources in order to make their countries a safe place. Fastforward to 2075, where this RP takes place. The Mega Corporations #01 The Kaiju Zaibatsu - The founder of the KaiZai (as it is mostly referred to) was a huge fan of the kaiju genre of tokusatsu movies and chose to name his company after them. The Kaiju Zaibatsu, like every single company in the world, has one aim: making profit. They simply choose to operate differently from their fellow Mega Corps. By funding Aegis and adhering to their code of honor they have created a base of loyal customers who will only order and use Dragoons created by KaiZai. Their customers include Aegis, various western nations and wealthy philanthropists. #02 ??? - #03 ??? - #04 ??? - #05 ??? - #06 ??? - #07 ??? - #08 ??? - #09 ??? - #10 ??? - #11 ??? - #12 ??? - Terminology Dragoon - Humanoid mobile weapon. 6 meters tall, outfitted ARES and possesses various kinds of weaponry depending on the type. ARES - Autonomous Regenerative Explosive-interception Suite. In addition to their considerable armor plating, every Dragoon possesses ARES: regenerating reactive armor that destroys incoming projectiles before they can strike the Dragoon. Bypassing the ARES requires huge directed-energy weapons, enough firepower to overwhelm the defenses or giant melee weapons capable of piercing through the ARES. Mega Corp - Corporations that managed to gain considerable amounts of money by selling Dragoons to whoever wanted to pay. Gained extraterritorial status after the Great War. Player Characters/Dragoons Name: Age: Personality: Appearance: Dragoon: Weapons: Abilities: Background: This RP is supposed to fit in the Real Robot genre, so while you can outfit your mecha as you’d like, anything outrageous will just get declined. Meaning no TransAm bullshit or whatever. If you would like to contribute to the list of Mega Corps, be my guest. PS: Mecha designs are based on the Mobile Suits used in Gundam Wing, in case you need something to reference~
  10. MegaCorps were given the closest thing to absolute autonomy as possible. They were allowed to build massive machines of death and destruction without having to abide by any labor laws (even though the process was almost fully automated, humans are indispensable overseers) or pesky regulations. However, it is human nature to want what one can’t have. So when the Luxembourg Protocol ruled that the creation, possession or utilisation of kind of orbital weapon was outlawed due to the destruction of large parts of Southeast Asia (with Singapore being wiped out in its entirety) it was only a matter of time before one of the MegaCorps finally decided to see how far she could get with the creation of a new orbital cannon. To be exact, Sabanci Space and Defence was a shell company without any official ties to the twelve MegaCorps, but despite the efforts Kilimanjaro Orbital Conglomerate put into ensuring that they could plausibly deny any involvement with Sabanci’s orbital cannon; no one would be dumb enough to believe that KOC was unaware of what was going on on the territory they let Sabanci ‘rent’. No one except for the law, but she had a reputation for being easily misled. Luckily Aegis wasn’t that easy to mislead. Raymond Montano Nagato, along with a fifty unit platoon, was sent out to invade and put an end to Sabanci’s operations. The higher ups had given the operation A-rank priority, which in this case meant that the situation was urgent, required immediate intervention and heavy resistance was expected. Of course no less than fifty Dragoons would be sent out on an operation as important as this. “All units, call in,†a voice resounded within the Highlander’s cockpit. Raymond knew that voice belonged to Andrew Carlson, the commander of the Blue Squadron given the callsign Blue Leader. One by the nine members of the Blue Squadron called in and reported that they were ready for action. “Blue Seven, standing by,†Raymond said, once his turn arrived, and the roll call continued up until Blue Nine. Raymond couldn’t help but feel excited. He had been in combat before, but never had he gotten the chance to face KOC’s Leopard Dragoons. After pressing one of the dozens of buttons inside of his cockpit and the Augmented Reality interface of his cockpit pulled up a schematic of the Leopard, the most common KOC unit and the one that they are most famous for; cheap yet deadly in the right hands, it had become the standard for ‘disposable’ Dragoons used to overwhelm enemies with numbers instead of superior technology. The bipedal unit’s most distinguishing traits were the square heads with a single lens, a large round shield attached to their left arms, several progressive knives scattered across various limbs and underneath the shield and a large caliber burst rifle attached to their right arm. Raymond didn’t doubt for a moment that the Highlander could easily beat a Leopard in a one on one battle, but the idea of a battle on such a grand scheme excited him. When he remembered that there were also several alternate, advanced versions of the Leopard his blood starting pumping at the promise of facing them in glorious single combat. This was going to be amazing! His fantasies were cut short when another message by Blue Leader resounded inside the cockpit. “Operation Sword of Damocles commences in t-minus 5 minutes. Several miles outside of KOC territory occupied by SSD the fifty Dragoons of Aegis waited as the seconds counted down to the commencement of the operation. Raymond activated the Dragoon’s VR piloting program and immediately his senses were overwhelmed with a sensation that remained unfamiliar no matter how many times he underwent it. The Dive was a process that used a VR program in order to allow pilots to take control over their Dragoons with their thoughts. The technology was mostly developed in order to eliminate the chance of piloting errors leading to failure, but also because piloting a giant robot with your mind was insanely cool. The SSD Manufacturing plant was located in the Syrian desert, being far removed from the curious gazes of unwanted onlookers and easy access to solar power made it a decent location for a large factory performing acts that could be considered war crimes. In an instant the silence underneath the hot Syrian sun disappeared when the rumbling sound of fifty tall mechanical monsters running with their weapons at the ready echoed through the area. Among the ten members of the Blue Squadron was the Highlander; shield and rifle still both attached to its arms and the Zantetsuken resting at its hip. It did not take long before sentry guns spread out across the KOC’s perimeter started firing at the advancing Dragoons, but the wide spread of bullets was little more than an easily ignorable inconvenience. A few rounds of their cannons and most of the sentry guns had been blown to bits. The second line of defense didn’t come until the platoon reached the premises of the factory. A large group of Dragoons stood armed and ready to face Aegis, as if someone had warned them that Aegis was coming. Surely it wouldn’t be Kilimanjaro Orbital Conglomerate! That would be crazy. Nevertheless it was time for them to deal with the Leopards. Most squadrons spread out, dividing the battlefield among them in order to eliminate the enemy as efficiently as possible. “Scanner reads 81 Bandits,†Blue Three announced, confirming the suspicion that KOC would be providing SSD with their trademark numbers advantage. Raymond paid little attention to that fact. He knew that being reckless would cost him his life, but as he raised his cannon at the first enemy within range all he could do was think about how lucky he truly was to have found his one true calling as several bullets fired by enemy Leopards were stopped by the Highlander’s ARES. Raymond needed to do little more than visualize it for the Highlander to raise it’s right arm and fire several rounds of the Avalanche in retaliation. The exchange of bullets between the Blue Squadron and the various Bandits in their section continued as the Squadron slowly advanced, closing the distance between them and their enemies. It did not take long before everyone was close enough to cease fire and dash towards the Leopards with their melee weapons in hand. The feeling of drawing the Highlander’s sword and charging into enemy lines had always been something Raymond was particularly fond of. Firing the Avalanche at a distance was satisfying in its own way, but nothing beat the sensation of using a gigantic, insanely expensive sword to destroy mechanical giants with a fell swoop. As the Blue Squadron got closer, many of the Leopard forsook their cannons for the progressive knives that functioned a lot better at melee range. Despite a quick scan Raymond couldn’t see any modified Leopards, so he decided to isolate a pair and take them down two-on-one to make it a bit more interesting. One of the Leopards used its thrusters to hop back, while firing it’s cannon to keep the Highlander away, and the other drew a pair of progressive knives and accepted Raymond’s challenge. Despite the Leopard’s inherent clunkiness, the machine was obviously operated by a skilled pilot that knew how to beat superior Dragoons. The way the Leopard’s pilot used slashes and dashes in various directions in conjunction with the covering fire provided by its ally demonstrated his experience to the point that Raymond admitted that he would have lost the battle if he had a lesser machine. The pressure applied by his opponent was enough to keep Raymond from being able to safely switch over to the offensive. Forced to quickly think on his feet, he waited for the melee combatant to go for another strike and attempted to deflect it with his shield. While the opening he had created wasn’t enough for him to swing the Zantetsuken before the Leopard had the chance to dash back, it was enough for him to raise his Avalanche and fire several rounds at the Leopard in the back, destroying its cannon arm and effectively eliminating the support it provided. After creating enough leeway for him to act and fully engage on the Leopard who had so arrogantly decided to try and pressure him. Without the support of his backup the inferior specs of the Leopard weren’t enough to keep it from being crudely cut in half by the blade of the Zantetsuken. As expected, this mission was going to be a lot of fun.
  11. So,towards the middle of the RP Carnival, I noticed my ability to come up with riveting tales and ever eloquent stories was failing me. I couldn't seem to concoct anything new and/or good really and my writing sort of fell off for a while. While I was busy packing somethings and looking at some awesome stuff and playing games, some ideas struck me like lighting cast by (insert mage name here). Of course, I'm not going to claim that I'm back at an awesome writing peak again. However, these ideas are interesting to me, so maybe some of you will find them interesting and might want to join me for a fun RP based on these ideas. *Note: none of these have names yet, and these are short descriptions. Hyaaaaaaaa! This idea struck me while playing an MMO on my PC. Really it's an idea for a character that sounds fun, therefore the concept only really exists so I can use a new character idea. It's a world where long ago (insert beings/breeds here) all live together in peace. They thrived and had a grand country under the rule of (insert name). These people live well with advanced technology based on the one thing found in great abundance on the planet, Luxcerium. (explained later) With this magic material, life was created in the form of (insert android race name) and they created their own empire as well, living peacefully alongside their creators. When the Luxcerium began to run dry from over use however, the (insert) went to the humans/demons/angel/elves/etc. for help and were denied. War broke out soon after and was waged for many years with the people winning. In a tragic twist of events, the war ended with the destruction of the (insert) from celestial cause. The people also suffered great loss, forcing them into the equivalence of the dark ages without the use of Luxcerium. Thousands of years have passed since then and the tales and legends of old slowly faded more and more with the progress of man, until society was once again thriving and the Luxcerium and (insert) were forgotten. (this last paragraph here will probably be changed for something different later) Gods Among Us Okay, so I think all of the ideas are just for awesome character concepts, but moving on...This idea sprang up while I was viewing some radical images on the google. The setting is modern day wherever the hell, but it's modern. Magic is, of course, total fiction. Young (insert character name) believes this as well. Even if he wishes that something about the world were extraordinary, he is painfully aware of that blandness that is earth. However, one day he witnesses an event that will change the fate of mankind. A person, who he's never seen, is found in the middle of a four way intersection in the midst of rush hour. As he stands there, people yelling at him to move, a beast of unknown origins emerges from seemingly nothing at the call of the man. The beast, following the mans orders then goes out and beings destroying everything he can. While doing so, another man steps forward and summons a completely different, but equally terrifying beast and there, in the middle of downtown (city name) they fight a battle that changes everything. (This story can go several places, so I'm just going to leave it there for anyone who finds the concept of summoned beast interesting) Lost Wonders Again, character concepts, but this one has something that might amount to possible story line. This one hit me while packing. Janus, a man of legend. He has fought demons, warbeasts, vampires, fallen angels, warlords, mages, and a thousand other races to tedious for me to concoct. His skill in (blank) is that of a paragon and he is a being of untouchable power. Janus the Unparalleled. Janus the Paragon. Janus of the (blank) Knights. Janus the Legendary. Janus the Fair Skinned. Janus of the Golden Hair. Janus...well, they get the point. So when this young man by the name of Janus (lastname) appears in the city of (blank) with claim to be Janus the Reduced Power he gets all manner of scorn and disrespect. The villagers all know the tales of Janus, and they all KNOW with out a shard of doubt that this man couldn't possibly be "Our Lord and Savior Nicholas Cage Janus." So then who is he really? And who is this all powerful, coated in roses Janus? Basically, this Janus had his powers drain by whatever thing and he is no longer the all powerful guy. And he isn't the only one. The other (blank) Knights are the same way. This tale is about their journey to regain their powers from whatever to achieve whatever, for blah blah blah, yadda yadda. You guys get the idea. If anyone has interest in these, please feel free to say so ^.^
  12. Ghost in the System

Ghost in the System In the year2021, Neigel Hassen, creator of the virtual reality game Seraphim, created the first plausible augmented reality device in the form of big clunky goggles. Using cameras that film constantly in real time and feed connections to the goggles, the program creates a real time copy of reality and projects it through the lenses. Other programs are used in combination to create virtual objects that work in real time as well. This system was a great break through and was named God Vision. Over the course of a decade with much research, experimentation, and investment, the program was set up for to run in all across the world. Cameras placed in cities, and programs installed in already created cameras to spread the augmented reality to the public. June 3, 2031, God Vision went live and swept the world away with its revolutionary system. All across the globe people bought the now sleek model glasses and goggles to use. Schools, homes, private and public; God Vision became a necessity. Children and teens took to it the easiest and quickly became attached to the system, using it for things like games, exploiting bugs and glitches for fun, creating programs to run alongside it to both help and hinder others. It was a great success. After several more years, the God Vision system began to grow weaker. Rumors began to spread about strange glitches in the system and several unexplained incidents occurred with people falling unconscious while using GV. To disperse any rumors of the God Vision system being dangerous, the company used the obvious compatibility issues as an excuse to upgrade. With advances in technology, the servers worldwide underwent maintenance for a week as God Send was installed over the original God Vision to solve the problems. 2037, and the world is continuing on just as always using God Send. On many forums popular among younger people though, rumors about a ghost in the system linger. The familiar legend of the God Eater floats around. Though widely dismissed as impossible, a fairy tale, or a simple legend, what is the truth? Overview Your basic ghost in the system story line. Mysterious rumors revolving around dangerous self-programming AI in augmented reality that lives in the program and causes people harm. A group of teens gets interested after hearing about the rumors and decide to take action. They then begin to search for the truth behind the legend and become detectives. They use skills that aren't widely known to exploit the system: hacking, glitches and bugs in the programming, black market items. They fight against the established system in this manner to find the secrets hidden away and uncover the truth. :Terminology: GV- This stands for the original version of augmented reality, God Vision. GS- The current version of augmented reality, God Send. Mods/God’s Eye- These are AI created by Seraphim CO. to manage the server real time. They handle things like bugs and glitches in the programming, usually appearing where out dated programming, or glitched/bugged space exists. Admin/Hand of God- These are AI created to maintain the laws of augmented reality. They can’t enter private areas, school zones, and other places. They appear where people are attacking the system. (Rumored to have been created to handle God Eater, but never confirmed) Other stuff TBA? ______________________________________________________ So, any takers on this here idea?

Though widely dismissed as impossible, a fairy tale, or a simple legend, what is the truth? _______________________________________________ The final bell of the day rang and as the first sound tolled the class erupted into the sounds of scrapping chairs, rustling bags, and the voices of many students discussing after school plans. Raife stuffed his Japanese literature book back into his bag just as a notification appeared just at the bottom of his vision. With a flicker of his thoughts the notification opened to a recent post on a forum about something called GSC; God Send Coma. It was a rumored condition about people falling into a coma while using GS. With another flick of thought the screen was closed. Most of the reports he’d read about AR related comas were just people trying to draw attention of feeding off of what they heard. Raife had done plenty of research on GSC already and found the only cases that had any basis were those from GV. He didn’t care to read a dead end message. “Raife! What plans have we got for this afternoon buddy?†Connor asked throwing his arm around Raife’s shoulder. “I’ve got no ideas at this point. We could always just go grab something to eat if you’re just that bored. Or was that actually just a rhetorical question because you plan to drag me into something else again today?†Raife asked as he stood, bag hanging in one hand, and they left the classroom together. “Nah, but we shouldn’t waste the summer. Even if summer vacation is over, fall will be here soon, and then it’ll start getting cold,†Connor said. As they reached the entrance of the school building a notification popped up in Raife’s vision and he opened it with his right hand, reading the headline plastered across the top of the black page in red letters. 17 Year old attacked by unknown entity inside God Send This quickly grabbed Raife’s attention and he was very eager to get into action with something of this nature. It wasn’t a blatantly calling out anything. The article under it was very vague as well. Nothing about specifics that were tale tell signs of false info. The only thing it mentioned was the witness testifying that he’d been attacked by someone at night, and they were wearing some kind of armor. “Actually, I think I do have something to do now. Just read up on the board about something interesting. Sounds like an attack from a *Binary,†Raife said. "Still chasing the rumors of course. At least you found something good. There's been nothing but garbage recently right?," Connor asked, aware that Raife occupied his time with researching AR rumors and things of that nature. "Pretty much. I mean, it's not like there really is anything deeper than the surface, but still, it's fun to watch and it gives me something to do. I don't run with any of the gangs, so I have to find something else to sate my interests. Would you care to join me in my investment on this case Connor," Raife asked as he walked backwards while talking. It was then that something bumped into him and he lost his balance completely, tripping over the small ledge at the lockers and plunging to the tiled floor. He caught himself with one hand just before his head hit and he breathed a sigh of, “Safe.†Connor’s face twisted in some sort of mix of distaste and horror seeing who had just run into Raife; Hannah, the small girl who literally split crowds with her presence. Of all the students milling about, it had to be this one. I get the feeling things won't go so smoothly. Raife might not be able to talk his way out of this one. Connor thought, keeping a clear distance from both of them as students had already began to gather around the entrance, some whispering, some gasping, but all waiting to see what would become of the situation now. Foot Note* A Binary is an entity rumored to form from obsolete data no longer used, or from any data that wasn't properly deleted.
  14. Xenoblade: A World of Titans

A world filled with endless ocean. A world where life itself is void. Yet such a change would occur that it would change the world forever. An almighty crash heralded the sudden arrival of the Bionis and the Mechonis to this world, for the titans were locked in a timeless war... The sound of their clashing blades rang out, shaking the sea bed and sending ripples through the sky. As the duel reached its climax, the titans poured their remaining strength into one last slash of their great swords. Both struck forth with immeasurable power... Once the dust had settled, only their corpses remained. Locked in place from their world shattering strikes... Eons passed, and signs of life began appearing upon the corpse of the titan Bionis. People born of the Bionis would return to the Bionis. Now, the Bionis' enormous body, covered in lush plains as far as the eye can see, is home to a developed series of civilizations who give thanks to the titan for providing them with such a natural bounty. Life on Bionis is not destined to flourish forever, however. A war has begun. Fronted by the Mechon, a race of overwhelmingly powerful entities whose origins come straight from the Mechonis attack the peaceful races of the Bionis. What will happen? Has the Mechonis reawakened? Can the peoples of the Bionis stand against these devestating creatures? --------------------------------------------------------- Races: Homs - The equivalent of Humans, they inhabit much of the vast body of the Bionis in Colonies. They are bountiful, and run by a single government which lies within the Bionis itself. The colonies are spread from the feet to the shoulders of the Bionis with a system of tunnels that connect them to the capitol. They are a civilized and developed people who have come to be one of the dominant races of the world. Nopon - A younger race of beings on the Bionis, they resemble fat rabbits mixed with cats. They are a highly peaceful race who often become merchants and travel the Bionis freely without a care. They are highly resilient to damage and accustomed to combat, as they live within the massive jungles upon the Bionis' back. High Entia - A race who consider themselves the most developed and whose civilization has overtaken the head of the Bionis. They are powerful warriors, brilliant magic wielders, and proud people. A pair of wings adorns their heads like a crown, and allows them slight flight, though their advanced technology allows them much better transportation. --------------------------------------------------------- I'm hoping to get maybe 3 or 4 people for this set up. It's based on one of the most beautiful games I've ever played and I hope to maybe introduce some people to the world in some fashion.
  15. NC-17 Corporate Heroes

“Just… just shut up and trust me. When have I lied to you, Phantom?†Luther did his best to keep his frustration and fear hidden as he stared at the rooftop of the skyscraper across from his current location. A week ago the gap between the two rooftops would have been too large for Luther to jump across, despite his enhanced physique and the augmentations provided by the Sony Hypersuit Mk III Ghost the gap would’ve been insurmountable. Yet the technician kept insisting that the gap between the Mk III Ghost and the Mk IV Ghost Prototype was enough for this to become an easy feat. Normally Luther would’ve believed him, but normally Luther wouldn’t be facing a horrendous plummet towards his own death. “How big is the chance that you’re wrong and I’ll end up dead?†He asked and a video feed opened up in the corner of his helmet’s HUD, showing the technician sitting safely in Sony’s Neo Human Division’s HQ. “I’d rather not end up a smear on the pavement, Roy.†The technician shrugged. “You didn’t mind going through all the other hazard test. You didn’t mind being set on fire, shot, stabbed, beaten, electrocuted or deprived of oxygen, but you’re scared of jumping?†“I dislike heights.†“Then you picked the wrong business, hero. Come on, trust me. I’ve got this.†Luther let out a deep audible sigh, making sure that the microphone installed in his helmet caught every second of it, before moving to the far end of the rooftop. He crouched, putting his left knee adjacent to the right ankle, hands resting on the ground at shoulder width. He took a few deep breaths before raising his hips slightly higher than his shoulders, another deep breath. Luther remained motionless as he visualized the jump and in a split second he jumped from his starting position into a sprint. The force of the impact of each step was enough to leave marks on the rooftop as Luther ran across with incredible speed. Each subsequent stride was longer than the last, until he finally reached the edge. He jumped, vertically, allowing the speed of the sprint to carry him forward as he prayed to whatever god he normally did not believe in to allow him to make it. Each passing second seemed to last a lifetime as the opposing rooftop got closer and closer. Even with the oxygen regulatory system built into the suit Luther couldn’t help but feel short of breath as the moment of truth approached ever so slowly. A sudden beep, accompanied by a blinking exclamation mark surrounded by a red triangle on his HUD, pulled him out of his trance and broke his concentration. No longer focused on his jump, it seemed as if time fast forwarded to him landing on the rooftop. The momentum of the jump was enough to prevent a sudden stop, causing Luther to trip and roll forward after safely landing on his feet. He spun around twice before slamming his hand through the roof to stop the momentum. “See, you made it,†Roy said as he clapped at the achievement. Luther took a moment to calm down before standing up and looking at the damage he had caused during his landing. He was glad to see that the jump was indeed as easy as Roy had said, he had landed comfortably in the middle of the rooftop area, but the cracks that originated at the point of impact could be dangerous for civilians on the top floor of the skyscraper. “Don’t worry,†Roy said, as if reading Luther’s thoughts, “we’ll get a clean up crew on those two rooftops as soon as possible. For now, you should get to work. You heard the alarm right? It’s time for a field test.†----- “I still don’t understand why you insist on testing my jumping when you know that I can create a paraglider at will.†Luther had arrived on street level and walked in the opposite direction of the fleeing and panicking crowd. Something was going on and it is always a safe bet to go to the point everyone is running from if you are looking for trouble. “I thought it would be funny,†Roy said as he kept an eye on the video feed sent over by the cameras built into Luther’s helmet. “Any idea what is going on?†“No,†Luther replied, “no visual on any suspect activity. Any other Neo Humans on site?†“Negative, you’re the only one here, but if you don’t hurry up someone will show up and steal your Board Points.†“Let them. I am going to see if I can reach a decent vantage point.†Luther jumped and latched onto the wall of one of the many buildings that oversaw the street; it only took a bit of climbing for him to reach a suitable height. From here Luther could see that the crowd was much larger than he had initially anticipated, even for a friday night in the middle of the city’s center. “I still don’t see anything.†“Try zooming in.†“Roger,†Luther replied as a slit opened in the normally smooth black helmet. The camera lenses readjusted as Luther zoomed in to try and get a visual on ground zero. “Uhh, Roy, do you see this?†“Is that what I think it is?†“I’m going in,†the lenses returned back to their normal state as the slit in Luther’s helmet closed. He jumped off the wall, stretched out his arms and a set of black bat-like wings manifested on his back along his arms. Using the contraption he rapidly glided over the crowd, no longer having to deal with random civilians bumping into him, and mentally prepared for combat. “Wow…†Roy said as Luther made his landing, “your camera didn’t deceive us. It really was a huge wolf. Try not to get bitten, we have no idea if the suit can sustain a bite from the jaws of a beast as big as that.†“Roger,†Luther slowly approached the gigantic rampaging wolf. The creature’s size compared to that of a car, but if Luther didn’t stop him innocent people would get hurt. “Hey, you!†Luther shouted; the wolf turned in his directed, snarled and began growling. “Yeah, Luther said, “that trick works on civvies, but I’m not going to turn tail and run. Either you tell me who you are or I beat you up and then you tell me who you are.†The wolf’s snarl disappeared. “Figured a Neo Human wouldn’t fall for it. I’ll tell you mine if you tell me yours.†“Phantom.†“Phantom? Oh! I didn’t recognize the suit.†The wolf began circling around the stationary Luther, it’s large tongue licking it’s snout. “Is it new? Well, not that it matters after I tear it off your cold, dead body.†“Name.†“How rude of me, they call my Lupus, nice to meet you. I wonder how many spots I’ll jump after killing you… I might even reach the top -1000! That’d be fantastic.†“That’s why I never heard of you. You’re just a puppy.†Luther taunted, but before he could continue Lupus lunged at him without any additional warning. The jaws of the wolf spread wide open, giving Luther a clear view of the gaping maw that approached his face. Not willing to risk the battle of teeth and helmet he reached out and grabbed both ends of the maw, maneuvering his fingers to avoid them getting cut by the teeth, and stopped the creature in its tracks. “Thought so,†Luther said, still completely serene, “You’re big, but that’s it. You’re just small fry.†Lupus began growling and violently movings its jaws as it tried to close its maw and bite off Luther’s fingers, but Lupus’ jaw strength couldn’t match the power of the Mk IV Ghost. As if tossing an average sized human, Luther turned and performed a simple hip throw to get the wolf flat on the ground. As the wolf lay dazed on the ground, Luther quickly got on top of it and wrapped his arm around the wolf’s neck, putting it in a rear naked choke. The animal viciously twisted and turned as it did its best to escape Luther’s grasp, but the increased strength of the suit was enough to keep him steady and subdue Lupus. It didn’t take long for the lack of oxygen to knock out the wolf. Luther exhaled before letting go of the wolf’s body, noticing that it slowly started shifting back into a humanoid form. “Roy, call the authorities. I’ve got a Bad for them.â€
  16. To all of you battle-lovers out there, today is your lucky day! Have you ever wondered how you might effectively gauge the power level of your character versus another RPer's character? Do you want to have a place that provides you the arena and the excuse to allow your characters to fight to their hearts' content against opponents of similar power levels? Then look no further! We proudly present to you... THE DIMENSIONAL SCHISM version "Nodding Chimpanzee" Legend tells of a lord that rules over the gaps between worlds, where the very fabric of reality itself is twisted and turned in more ways than a pretzel. It is there that time stands still, where heroes are made and legends come to die. It is known by many names: the End of the Universe, the Gap Between the Worlds, the Dimensional Schism. The Lord of the Schism grows weary from time to time, and may summon the strongest warriors it can find from across the planes, pitting them against one another for his own entertainment, like some divine form of the ancient Roman gladiatorial matches. Few know how the Lord came to possess such power, but even fewer have the strength to overcome it. The only way back home for most of these warriors is to fight, and to live. But who knows? The Lord is known to have granted new life to heroes who fell valiantly in battle for him. All is not lost, even if you may fall to the blade of your opponent. Battles in the Dimensional Schism are classified into various leagues, depending on the strength of the warrior. The leagues are listed as follows: Lightweight - Every character possesses some form of ability to harm others for self-defense. Anything from a street thug to a trained soldier will be considered as Lightweights.Hero - Once in a while, Heroes will emerge from the shadows to battle the darkness that plagues their world. Heroes usually possess a wide variety of physical, magical and/or scientific abilities which directly or indirectly aid them in combat. They are well known for their innate potential as well as their unpredictability in fights. Main characters usually fall under this league.Paragon - Whether by natural talent or through years of experience, Paragon fighters have become the best in their areas of speciality. Whether it be an Arch Mage capable of raining hellfire upon his foes or an elite Ghost notorious for being able to infiltrate the most highly guarded prison in the universe, Paragons never fail to impress. Most final forms of villains fall under this category, as well as the mentors of Heroes, or perhaps those who were once Heroes but have learned to hone their abilities to perfection.Legend - At the very end of their life's journey, Paragons usually ascend into Legendhood by performing one, final great task that seals their names into the rest of history. By this time, Legends usually have already learnt all they need to learn from the world, and have perfected their respective skills. Their names are passed down in reverence or terrified whispers by those who come after them, and are respected and feared as one of the few who have the power to shape the world.Immortal - A whole league apart from even the Legends, Immortals are the gods who rule over their realms. They often possess varying degrees of omniscience, omnipresence and/or omnipotence, and can display unimaginable degrees of power at their slightest whim. The Lord of the Schism rarely summons Immortals to do battle for him, but when he does, the echoes of the resulting conflict can be felt across the dimensions. The strongest of Immortals may even challenge the Lord himself. However, this will only be done under the Lord’s rulings (ie. you can only battle the Lord of the Schism in Regulated mode). STATS Every character has stats in some form or another, be it in numerical form or simply through descriptions. Through the Stats system, we hope to provide to you a simple and efficient method of creating your characters, be it for battle RPs or simply for fun. How to allocate stats (Casual Mode): This mode is for people who simply wish to use this system as a rough guideline. Casual Mode is the easiest mode and has no restrictions or numbers whatsoever. However it is also the most varied mode, and the balancing of battles is not guaranteed. Using numbers is not required in Casual Mode. You may choose to describe your character's stats instead; for example, "Marvin can lift a car easily." Strength: How strong your character is. Agility: How fast your character reacts to changes around them. Arcana: How attuned your character is to magical energies. Technology: How much your character utilizes technology to enhance their battle abilities. Defense: How well your character takes hits. Energy: How long your character can sustain high-powered physical attacks. Mana: How long your character can sustain high-powered magical attacks. Weapons: Any special weapons your character uses. Abilities: Any unique abilities your character uses. How to allocate stats (Standard Mode): This mode involves numbers for the sake of balancing purposes, but that does not mean that it is difficult to understand. We have made every effort to ensure that even Standard Mode is simple and user-friendly. In Standard Mode, your battles are likely to be more balanced, and some site tournaments in the future may only allow characters created using Standard Mode. Please note that once you've created a character in Standard Mode, you can easily switch it back to Casual Mode and vice versa, depending on what you feel like doing at the point of time! TIERS For the sake of balancing battles, or to simply help you in categorizing your characters, you may use our Tier system. It classifies characters into various power levels, which will hopefully allow you to locate opponents of similar power levels to battle or RP with. Tier Requirements (Casual Mode): The simplest form of classification, these requirements are meant to help you. If your character meets any one or more of the requirements, he/she is put under that tier automatically. Requirements to be a Hero: If you meet any one or more of these requirements, you are placed in the Hero tier: Possess Arcana (magic or psychic abilities) of any sort Have access to Technology beyond what has currently been invented Have Strength, Agility, Defense and/or Endurance that surpasses what normal humans can achieve through hard work or diligent training Have a Weapon with unique abilities that are not found in other weapons of its type Have an Ability which is unobtainable by regular humans even by hard work or diligent training Requirements to be a Paragon: If you meet any one or more of these requirements, you are placed in the Paragon tier: Is considered a high-level Arcana user even among other characters in the same universe Possess Technology that will only be available within 40 years of the future Have Strength, Agility, Defense and/or Energy that is at least 10 times greater than the maximum limit which normal humans can achieve Have a Weapon which is considered one-of-a-kind AND possesses power far superior even to other unique weapons possessed by Heroes Have 5 or more Abilities which are unobtainable by regular humans even by hard work or diligent training Have an Ability which is considered to be rare or difficult to get in the character’s home world, and has honed this Ability to near-perfection Is generally capable of holding his own ground easily against a group of 50 Lightweights or 5 Heroes. Requirements to be a Legend: If you meet any one or more of these requirements, you are placed in the Legend tier: Is considered one of the best Arcana users in his realm Possess Technology that will only be available within 90 years of the future Have Strength, Agility, Defense and/or Energy that is at least 20 times greater than the maximum limit which normal humans can achieve Have at least 2 Weapons which is considered one-of-a-kind AND possesses power far superior even to other unique weapons possessed by Heroes Have 10 or more Abilities which are unobtainable by regular humans even by hard work or diligent training Have 3 or more Abilities which is considered to be rare or difficult to get in the character’s home world, and has honed this Ability to near-perfection Is generally capable of holding his own ground easily against a group of 100 Lightweights, 10 Heroes or 2 Paragons. Requirements to be an Immortal: If you meet any one or more of these requirements, you are placed in the Immortal tier: Is considered a god of Arcana users Possess Technology that is considered to be scientifically impossible or hundreds of years into the future Effectively possess limitless Strength, Agility, Defense and/or Energy. Have a Weapon or Ability which renders the user invulnerable or semi-invulnerable to non-Immortal sources of damage Have any form of omnipresence, omniscience or omnipotence at any level. Is able to bring themselves back to life for any number of times. Is generally capable of holding his own ground easily against a group of endless Lightweights, 200 Heroes or 20 Paragons. Tier Requirements (Standard Mode): The difference in Standard Mode is the addition of numbers. Otherwise, all qualitative requirements remain the same. MISCELLANEOUS NOTES (AND ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS) The Excellent Wise HeavyHurricane first provided the spark of inspiration which started off this whole project, when she mentioned how great it would be to have a consistent battle RP format like in the good old S*T days. After that, the Eminent Mate-worthy NightRealist helped me to dig out Malgen Soyasu's old Lightweight League details from the Trash Bin of the old site. That was real nice of him, cuz the Trash Bin was really smelly and none of us could even go near it. After that the Minute Shantastic Noiala and the Mean Bean Sean helped out too in the initial planning of the system, and together, the 5 of us finally managed to produce this final result. Consider it a greatly simplified and expanded version of Malgen Soyasu's original Lightweight League. I hope it's easy enough for anyone and everyone to simply pick it up and use it for their characters! I've designed the point system to be as flexible as possible, so you should be able to use it to classify your characters even if they aren't usually participating in battle RPs! The purpose of the Dimensional Schism is to give RPers a platform for them to craft stories of their characters battling other heroes from alternate realms, while remaining in-universe as much as possible. It is completely up to you if you wish to use these battles as part of your character's ongoing story, if you tend to reuse the same characters repeatedly. Hopefully, the classification system will allow you to find opponents of similar power levels, so that you will get a fair fight. This is not meant to be a single RP. It is meant as a template for everyone to use in any battle RPs they wish to hold in the future. Feel free to use the setting of the Dimensional Schism in your own personal RPs! Oh, but do inform us if you want to make any major changes or tweaks to the system. Feel free to ask any questions that you might have! CHANGELOG Version Nodding Chimpanzee:
  17. Background You know, son… when I was your age I just to read just as many comic books as you. Man, that must have been close to 70 years ago now… Either way, Spider-man was my favourite. I loved reading it despite how horrendously depressing it was. Peter Parker got the short end of the stick more often than not and every single time I wondered what he had done wrong in his life to deserved such a shitty one. I always wondered if the writer did it because they got off on making Spidey suffer. I wondered how someone as amazing… as spectacular as Spider-man could have such a hard time. But then the Neo Human Program came out in public and my son, your father, was one of the many chosen to participate in the first test. I was reluctant, of course; no parent wants his child to be part of an experiment… but we were heavily in debt and they offered us so much money. So, so much money… we couldn’t say no. To this day we regret it, but we just could not say no. Watching your father grow up under the Neo Human Program was just as hard for us as it was for him! No… I’m not allowed to say that, but regardless you can’t imagine how awful it is for a parent. To watch his child grow up with any hopes of a happy future torn from him while he was still in utero. - Excerpt from “The Memoirs of Hugh Stillwell (1990 - 2087)†Setting Hello, muchachos. This is a sci-fi/fantasy/superhuman RP set in the year 2144. The setting is pretty simple. The Lewis-Ericsson Corporation, founding in the year 1989, started dabbling with genetic manipulation in the year 1994. It took them 17 years, but in the year 2011 they had managed to secure government funding and permission to start experimenting on humans when they succeeded in genetically improving animals. It started simple; immunity to certain diseases, increased bone strength, ability to function for a longer period of time despite being deprived of fluids, food or oxygen. They believed they could improve humans the same way they had improved the quality of life of the animals they succeeded on. No one would’ve guessed that they would trigger something. Whether it was something already present in the human genetic code or something introduced into them when they were altered in utero was unsure to the scientists at the time, but what they did know was that they had created something they never would have dreamed of. Humans started developing powers. It started simple. Greatly enhanced strength, enhanced speed, superhuman intelligence, telepathy, telekineses, clairvoyance and limited precognition were the most common powers, with mostly the specifics being the biggest difference between the various enhanced humans. Modifications to the process lead to an increased diversity in the amount of powers acquired by the humans who underwent treatment. However, the most interesting development came when it became apparent that the treatment had become extraordinarily expensive. Other than the first batch of superhumans, the Test Subjects, everyone had to pay for their own treatment. Something that was a bygone wish for many who wanted a brighter future for their children, but then the corporations jumped in. They began sponsoring people, giving them the money to undergo the treatment, as long as they promised to do their civil duty while representing the company that was sponsoring them. This would lead to increased goodwill for the company and give a chance to those who would never be able to afford the treatment otherwise. The life of a Neo Human isn’t all rainbows and sunshine. The corporations that sponsor them demand that they perform up to the standards that they expect of them. A Neo Human’s performance is reflecting upon an worldwide ranking that lists every single registered Neo Human in order of their accomplishments. Do a good deed and your rank rises, but mess up and your rank will plummet. Of course there will always be as many Neo Humans who strive for the bottom on the list as there are those who strive for the top. Terminology Hugh Stillwell - Founder of the Natural Human Movement, a group that believes that creating Neo Humans is tampering with nature. Man is not God, and should not act as God. Widely regarded as a hypocrite, considering his son was one of the Test Subjects, but those who believed in his cause still adamantly followed him. Died in the year 2087. Neo Human Program (NHP) - The program to create a Neo Human. Despite the insistence of many government the only company capable of performing the most advanced version of the Program will always be the LEC. Several nations have gotten their hands out the information with regards to an outdated version of the program. Lewis-Ericsson Corporation (LEC) - The corporation who had initially created the NHP. After years of lawsuits, death threats and political maneuvering they had managed to make billions thanks to the NHP. Currently listed as the most influential corporation in the world. Generation - Each version of the NHP is divided in generations. The Generations were: the First Generation (a.k.a. the Test Subjects) were born between 2012 and 2024, the Second ran from 2025 to 2047, the Third from 2048 to 2078, the Fourth from 2078 to 2101, the Fifth from 2102 to 2121 and the Sixth from 2122 to the present day. Even though the strength of a Neo Human is different from person to person, even within a Generation, generally the Neo Humans got stronger with each subsequent generation. The Board - The most important thing in the world to a Neo Human. Every single Neo Human is listed on the Board and the Board decides their lives. If you are high up on the Board, the world will love you and your possibilities will be endless. If you are low on the Board, you are most likely a murdering psychopath or a complete screw up… either way your life is bad. Neo Bad - A Neo Human who has turned bad. It doesn’t matter how much money the corporations threw at him with their sponsorship; if someone goes bad there is nothing they can do other than cut ties with him immediately. The world is smart enough to realize that it isn’t entirely the corporations fault, but that doesn’t stop their stock from plummeting if the Neo Bad they sponsored isn’t taken care of quickly. Currently they are roughly just as many Neo Bads as there are decent Neo Humans. The Ten - The ten highest ranked Neo Humans are known as the Ten. They are the saviors of humanity, the paragons of justice, the valiant protectors of tomorrow. Or… that’s what they look like when they appear in public. Supergroup - Many Neo Humans band together in the form of Supergroups. Player Characters Name: Age: Alias: Sponsor: Rank: Supergroup: Power: Personality: Appearance: Background: Open to 3 or 4 more people, but if you decide to join I am going to ask that you post at least semi-regularly. My only other RP that isn't dead yet is on life support, so I need something that'll last more than two posts!
  18. Technology

2000, New Century, Alternate Earth, Haven, Onfery, Cansen Crime People are injected with mini nano bots at birth, they prevent disease, track you, tell people how you feel and much much more. The crime rate is at a ultimate low, but privacy is a major issue; cameras are everywhere, the police know everyone's phone number, address, email, all social media and much more. This helps police find criminals by blackmail, they can x-ray people without reason, beat suspects for evidence and invade your mind and torture you for answers. The government covers this up pretty well, police are allowed memory wipes, kill anyone, speed without a crime, turn any animal or alien race extinct and if the rebellion is too strong, a doomsday device. Health, fashion and make up There are hundreds of things that you could get done to yourself, but let's talk about the basics. Age is a sign of being very, very, very poor, most people can buy youth injections, that cost just one single dollar. You can have your face look like someone or make it your dream face. Your body can be changed so much, that you might not even look human once you're done. This innovation is brought to you by Design Tent. People who have deafness, blindness, limpness, wounds and even missing limbs can be given, Health Co's Heal nasal spray, injection, tablet, liquid medicine or cream. Disease is impossible due to the, prevention chip, but if you were born somehow without the chip you will probably be the poorest in the world. Genetic enhancements are commonly used in children, adults or workers for large memory, enhanced speed, be more happy, to combat depression and some are given powerful abilities like control of minds, manipulate technology, generate elements or get rather superhuman enhancements. These enhancements are created by Experiment INC and the more interesting ones are created by Beyond Organization. Fashion is a worldwide craze, as everybody is buying the clothes, who are bringing the newest innovations to the table? That depends on what you want out of fashion, do you want functionality based clothes, clothes designed by you or the most fashionable clothing ever? Functionality is innovated with Kentech, known for the bullet proof series and the anti-physics shoe line up, they have complete control of the sport market, if athletes don't get the newest innovation they are at a, serious disadvantage. If you want to design your own custom clothing DesignTent is for you, you can customise every detail to the point of absolute detail, they have control over the movie and TV industry due to actors needing costumes and make up, you don't want your movie to be the same costumes like everyone else do you? Fashionable clothing is made by the powerful Beauteen Corporation, Beauteen controls half of the clothing market, they have entire malls dedicated to their clothing, they are known for every single bit of clothing they put out, like the glow series, the entire line of clothing pets, the blanket robe and much much more. Entertainment One of the most secretly profitable industries is entertainment. It was a great long term investment for DesignTent and Ocold as they now have the two greatest consoles, media players, television sets and radios the world will ever see. Thousands of great games, movies, music, TV shows and training are on both of these companies machines, Ocold is focused on immersion, graphics and functionality and DesignTent is focused on ease, customisability and recording media. This has not however stopped Ark making the best computers on Earth, Ark's computers have customisability, immersion, graphics, functionality, multi-tasking, ease and recording. But one of the major downfalls is why Ark doesn't control the market, it doesn't have as much games, movies, music, TV shows and training as Ocold and DesignTent have or it would have cut into a huge portion, of their market share already. History 1854 was a huge year, due to the discovery of the prevention chip and Health Co's Heal changed humanity, in a way that would impact the years to come. The 1970s was a big decade due to fashion, sports and make-up taking huge steps due to, DesignTent, Beauteen and Kentech going into the market. 1980s could be explained as Ocold and DesignTent making the entertainment industry the money maker it is today. The 1990s was the age of oppression with laws, allowing the police to become the número uno suspect for abuse of privacy. On the day 2000 came into place, things became messy with the rebellion and you're are a part of the rebellion, because your parents were both secret rebels, but you don't know this... Character Sheet Name: Genetic Enhancements:(For every genetic enhancement please have a genetic downfall) Genetic Downfall: Age:(3 is the minimum) Appearance; Gender Items: Personality: Likes: Dislikes: Fears: Biography: Other: Rules PM me your character sheets, this is open to everybody as long as your character sheet is written properly. For every genetic enhancement there is a equally strong downfall. Biography is optional but a great detail to have if you keep on getting denied. Use common sense! Don't make yourself overpowered or you will be banned or denied. Put banana in other. No Jane Does or Gary Sues All characters will be shown in the OCC post.
  19. Aftermath Story idea

Hey guys. This is just an idea that I had that might be worth sharing. Some of you might have seen this one in an earlier thread I made. Just following HH's advice and making a separate thread for each of said ideas. The end of the world has come and gone. This is a post apocalyptic scenario. Strangely, a large number of the population just vanished, up and disappeared. Those that have remained have to try and survive. However, since the apocalypse has happened, the rules have very much changed. Demons are now free to roam the land and do as they see fit. Angels by the hordes have been left behind, and they'll act as they feel they should, without the guidance of their lord. Fairy and magical creatures now see Earth as their new playground. The undead walk the earth (and even have their own civilizations). Super advance technology is now suddenly being discovered, excavated, and being made use of. All races are, for the most part, doing as they see fit, be it benign or malign. Humanity will have to do all they can to survive in this new world. One human in particular, obsessed with solving mysteries, wants to know why this happened, and he is on his way to the center of where the apocalypse began in order to solve this mission. I was pretty proud of this one when I thought of it a long time ago. I still love this idea, but recently I've noticed that it felt like something straight out of Shin Megumi Tensei, or something similar to it. So... make of that what you will. Taking into account opinions/suggestions made by Heatherroneous and HH from the earlier thread I made, it does seem like a lot to take in, so this will be done in an episodic/story arc style, to give each race a chance in the limelight and help figure out how the fit in with this new world now that the rules have been drastically changed. Players can be from any of the races, though. Whether they join up with the one human trying to solve this mystery or not is up to the individual players. If you have any questions or suggestions, please let me know! I'll try to set up more information and edit this page as I go along, so input and critique is very much appreciated.
  20. Hey guys. This is just an idea that I had that might be worth sharing. Some of you might have seen this one in an earlier thread I made. Just following HH's advice and making a separate thread for each of said ideas. Giant monsters have been a problem for humanity for a long time, but humanity has been able to defend themselves and survive. Two methods are the most well known. The first is technological advances made specifically to fight the giant monsters (specialized vehicles, weapons, giant robots, etc.) This method is the easier to obtain of the two, but can be pretty difficult as it endangers the lives of those fighting. One would have to be very well coordinated to take down a giant monster without any casualties. The second method is through the use of a kind of creature that is similar to the giant monsters (they are normally small enough to fit in a house with no trouble, but can be made giant sized to fight off the giant monsters). A bit harder to come by as these creatures will choose who their human partners will be, but the advantages that comes with one makes for a much more efficient means of dealing with the giant monsters (faster, hit harder, a regenerative factor). The creatures can take on many shapes and forms, from forms similar to the animals of the planet, to forms more similar to a human, to even some absolutely bizarre forms that borders on elderich. This idea is more meant to be something like a mon rp, like pokemon or digimon, or something like that, so my initial thoughts were that the main role players would have access to these types of creatures. If you have any questions or suggestions, please let me know! I'll try to set up more information and edit this page as I go along, so input and critique is very much appreciated.
  21. Hey guys! Been slow going on my part, so I'm gonna try and see if I can interest anyone with some rp ideas floating in my head (and hopefully graduate). Right now they're just in their basic stages, but maybe if anyone is interested we can flesh them out? Fingers crossed! Please note that, this being me, I'll likely try to have some kind of comedy element in all of them. Hope that's okay with you guys! Okay, here goes! Rp idea #1: Basic concept, spiritual beings with special abilities who bond with human hosts. Apart they have their own skills, but when they fuse together they become something like a super-hero kind of thing, with extra abilities that they did not have access to on their own. Their abilities can either resemble magic or something like technology (Like for instance the ability to create fireballs (resemble magic) or being able to turn your arm into an arm blaster (resemble technology)). There's also a dangerous corruptive force that has a tendency to take anything and make it openly hostile to any living creature. This idea kind of borrows a lot of concepts from the Megaman franchise, specifically the Battle Network and Starforce series, though whether theirs online-ness or not is still up for debate. Rp Idea #2: Giant monsters have been a problem for humanity for a long time, but humanity has been able to defend themselves and survive. Two methods are the most well known. Rp Idea #3: The world at large has been, for the most part, completely unaware of the magical world due to it being kept secret from the public eye. For the most part, anything that could have revealed the magical world was dealt with harshly, thus silencing the "threat of exposure." The governments of the world hold a hugely tight monopoly of magic, practically deciding who can use magic and how, but always in secret. Then one day, one of the greatest defenders of the "Silence" has openly revealed to the world the existence of magic, even promising asylum for those who wish to come into the light and not hide anymore. This is the story of but a handful of people who are connected to the magical world in some way or form, and how they deal with this new and very radical approach as a revolution takes place. Think "The Secret World" except the secret as been blown and people either trying to accept it or deny it. Rp Idea #4: Two divine beings decide to play a game. They create a special world where magic and technology exist as one. Then they summon various people from various dimensions and leave them stranded on this world. They tell them that they are free to do what they wish in this world: They can try to make it their own or try to go home. All of the worlds resources is theirs to use so long as they can access it. The point of the game is simple, who would win? Good or evil? This one is more of an excuse to have a huge crossover kind of event deal. Rp any character you want from any franchise, or make your own character, or an expy of a character you like. Rp Idea #5: The end of the world has come and gone. This is a post apocalyptic scenario. If anyone is interested, please let me know! Also, if you think I might be interesting to rp with, give me a PM. The above ideas should give you an inkling of what I tend to go for, but for the most part I'm pretty open to anything so shoot me a thought and we'll see if I go for it!

  25. It was a hot day. Large crowds of foreign dignitaries milled into the stadium, eagerly chattering away in anticipation of the show that was about to be performed in front of their very eyes. Soldiers in towering suits of metal and kevlar stood by the various entrances, hefting impressive guns as a warning to anyone who might threaten to disturb the peace. It was of utmost importance that nothing went wrong today, for it was the unveiling of the United States's latest superweapon to the world. ExoSuit ESX-58, "Spectre". It had been nearly 15 years since the megacorporation, FutureTech Industries, revealed the first ExoSuit. Even back then, it was an astounding breakthrough in technology, providing innumerable advantages to the average soldier. Super strength, enhanced battlefield awareness and invulnerability to conventional firearms were three of its numerous selling points. The ExoSuit changed the landscape of war, rendering traditional strategies and weaponry useless. The US and Chinese militaries imported vast numbers of these ExoSuits, hoping to equip every soldier with one by the year 2050. Since then, there have been countless improvements made to the original ExoSuit, with each country going on its own developmental path to create their unique breed of super soldier. Demonstrations such as these were a show of might, a way of waging war without harming lives. Deterrence, in a way. That was the reason why so many world leaders were gathered at Phoenix, Arizona to witness the demonstration this day. It would take a fool to interrupt such a heavily-guarded event. "AS-08X, Seraph Excalibur, in position. Operation Ghostbuster will commence in T-minus 10 seconds. 9. 8. 7..." As the applause from the audience began to fill the air, a lone figure moved out of the shadows and approached the entrance to the grand stadium. It resembled an ExoSuit in a way, but its features were more sleek, almost alien-like. Streaks of blue light trailed behind the suit reminiscent of wings, and the suit hovered in the air, its feet just a few inches off the ground. The guards on duty raised their gauss rifles, training them upon the newcomer with honed lethality. "Halt! Identify yourself!" One of them spoke, as he slowly approached the figure. The other seemed to be speaking into a microphone, presumably calling for reinforcements. The figure halted, allowing the soldier to reach within arms' length. "Turn around and put your hands up- hey!" Moving faster than the eye could see, the Seraph Excalibur darted to the right as the soldier in the ES-22 "Gallant" suit fired off a few rounds, turning around to follow its movements. As the soldier raised his gun, there was a flash and an arc of light, and then his arm lay severed on the ground, the gauss rifle landing with a great crash. He barely had time to scream, however, as the next slash took his head cleanly off, leaving him to kneel down and collapse in a pool of blood. "Mayday! Mayday! Unknown hostile at entrance 15! We need backup- AAARGGHH!" The Seraph Excalibur pulled the plasma blade out of the soldier's abdomen, dropping his corpse onto the ground with a lazy action. "Going in," the man in the suit whispered. The whole stadium was in disarray now, as the sounds of the battle outside reached some of the audience. More soldiers were running here and there, evidently attempting to control the situation as they dispatched more men to the scene. Their reactions were too slow. The Seraph Excalibur flew into the middle of the stage, where the new suit was located. The Spectre. To the pilot's credit, he seemed pretty calm despite all the confusion in the area. As the newcomer floated down to meet him, he raised a large pistol and pointed it straight at his forehead. "I don't know who you are, buddy, but you picked the wrong place to make a scene," he declared. "By doing this, you have incurred the wrath of the entire United States upon yourself. Not that you'll be alive for much longer. I am, after all, Richard Stone, one of America's ace pilots, in my country's most advanced ExoSuit. I don't know how your magic suit can maintain propulsion for so long, but it's not going to save you from me." About twenty guns were trained on him at this point of time, with the soldiers forming a wide arc around the dome-shaped stage. "... You're noisy." A vein popped in Richard's head. "What did you say?! Who the hell do you think you are anyway?!" His finger pulled the trigger- The Seraph had weaved to the side, a plasma blade extending from each hand as it advanced upon his adversary. Immediately, every soldier on the scene opened fire, but not a single shot found its mark. Whether by skill or ungodly luck, the Seraph was moving in fluid motions that avoided each bullet as it approached, rapidly advancing upon the Spectre as it tried to retreat to gain distance. Impossible, Richard thought, as he emptied his pistol's magazine at him in vain. Such speed! It's as though he can see where I'm going to fire... With a burst of light, the Seraph appeared next to him in an instant. Richard barely had time to react, whipping his hand away as the MC-198 Magnum he was holding dropped to the ground in pieces. He swore, reaching for the next weapon- but he felt a searing pain and a violent shock, and then he noticed the gaping hole where his arm was supposed to be. A hand grabbed him by the neck, and he felt himself being raised up into the air as it became difficult to breathe... He noticed the firing had stopped. Did someone else take out the soldiers? But Richard had more pressing matters at hand, as he struggled to wrestle himself free from the Seraph's iron grip. He realized the whole stadium had become silent, as all eyes were fixated on the scene in the center of the stage. The Seraph reached over to his suit, plucking out the microphone that was attached to the stadium's loudspeakers and moved it to his mouth. "I am Vengeance." And then he snapped Richard's neck.
