A boy tentatively walked into a dark gym entrance. The main door was made of solid wood beams which creaked open as they swung open revealing a dark and dismal pathway. He took a gulp as he cautiously walked forward into the chasm. As the darkness engulfed the young man he looked back behind him giving his final goodbye's to his fellow travelers. Jellybean sat across the road at a cafe watching the whole ensemble take place. She slowly sipped a soda through a long and twirly straw as she watched the newcomer challenge the pokemon gym. Jellybean was taking her time, she had heard this was the toughest gym in the region and wasn't going to take any chances rushing in. Sure she could go ahead and challenge the leader and lose on the first try, come back later with a better strategy once she knew what she was up against. But really, what was the fun in that? No, better to sit outside and examine the caliber of trainers who challenged and lost. There was a roar that tore through the ground and shook the earth around them. Jellybean's table and all surrounding furniture and civilians were shaken in a moment as something powerful inside the gym unleashed it's attack. Jellybean stood up leaving the drink on the table. She stared straight ahead with a fiery gaze. The drink on the table slowly wobbled and eventually fell to the ground because of the subsiding tremors. The boy came out, his face almost white, carrying the body of a Starmie in his arms. His companions circled around him and then the three helped carry the unconscious pokemon to a center near by. That was enough for Jellybean. She sauntered forward stepping into the daylight in front of the gym. The sun highlighting her red hair which was pulled back into a high braid. Her bright green eyes glanced down at her waist where her six companion pokemon balls rested on her belt harness. They would do. She walked past the recent losers and headed into the dark abyss. In the dim light all that was visible was the sway of her black cheerleader pleated skirt and her lime green sneakers as they echoed through the hall. Admist the darkness there was a bright light which emitted a Dratini from inside. A rival trainer called out for Jellybean to halt, but without missing a beat she flicked her wrist and an Espeon beamed forward. There was a bright pink light and shimmering sparkles through out he darkness before the adversary was called back. "Good boy Shiva." Jellybean spoke quietly as the espeon returned to her side. His bright neon purple eyes glowed as they continued through the darkness to the gym's center. Finally the pair stopped and a spot light illuminated them to whomever was around. Jellybean raised an arm to shield her face. As she squinted and adjusted her eyes to the light she dusted off her black tanktop which bared the pokemon elite four logo. Shiva hid behind Jellybean as she confidently spoke out. "My name is Jellybean Whia and I challenge this Gym!"

Props if you recognise where the name of the thread comes from. Us Loathers need to stick together. So, I was thinking of setting up a plotless roleplay, designed specifically for Students to get at least five posts in so everyone could see how they were at playing. Naturally, it'd have to be a neutral setting, perhaps a pub, or an entire village, based around the general area that a DnD group end up in after a long, satisfying dungeon crawl. But just having it for students is selfish; it should also be a place where Graduates can come to practice their skills, or meet-and-greet the newbies while they wait for posts to materialise in their other roleplays. But that's boring, I hear you all collectively cry. What's to keep our interest in yet another one of these damn tavern-things that look so good on paper? Okay. Imagine that the place is based upon Castle Heterodyne, complete with a (twisted?) personality of it's own and the ability to rearrange it's own internal structure. Imagine also that there are plot hooks around the place as well, and that completing one changes the physical layout of the place to reflect the outcome. I'm going to, um, borrow an idea from a different plot-hook thread and I'm going to have to insist that people on a plot have to put the location of their characters at the top of every post. It's a bit more work, but it saves people getting confused about where everyone is and missing posts, or accidentally replying to things that they think are happening around them. Hopefully, I won't explode from the effort of keeping this monster running. I do like jumping in at the deep end. Yes, there will be a plague of drunken rats in the basement. Feedback on this idea would be nice.
Some time ago she had entered through the fragile grandiose glass doors. Time of being unused has taken its deadly toll on the building. Once a welcoming home, the hotel has decayed into ruins. Stepping around a pile of rubble near the old sign in desk she found a book lying there, decrepit and barely legible. As gentle as possible the visitor opened the book at the entry log and ran her fingers down the page. A distinct hand stood out to her. A slender finger traced the name in remembrance. Underneath her fingertips in faded ink lay her own name; Raine Bellereace. Her thoughts had swirled back to the day she first signed in. It was here that she met her closest friends. How long ago had that been? Months? Years? She could hardly remember anymore. Shaking the memories’ cobwebs from her mind’s eye Raine focused on the place in front of her. It would take a bit of cleaning up if she planned to restore this building back to its original glory. She pulled her long wavy brown hair up into a delicate ballerina bun and started right at the information desk. A broom, dustpan and a rag had been waiting to be used it seemed. Working as diligently as she could to get things set she had come across several oddities, hotel keys to be exact. When her fingered brushed against the cool metals images of different lands clouded her mind. It had seemed that the hotel had its own way of improving as well. Now all that was left was the grand opening. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Come one, come all, students and graduates alike. Enter into a world where fantasy and reality collide. This is a revamp of the S*T hotel for those of you who happen to remember. If you don’t remember it’s alright, if you never had the chance to join it’s ok, if you have no idea what I am babbling about we still encourage you to join us. In my endeavors back to this particular memory lane I have encountered several artifacts; keys to be exact. These keys must have room keys for the hotel at one point but oddly none of them appear the same. What I did find out though is that these keys have gained a rather interesting power thanks to the magic of S*T that has preserved them and redesigned them. I have discovered that each key leads to a different dimension. The key you choose is completely up to you. By choosing your hotel key you are brought to a dimension based on your preferred style of rping. You will have a friendly scholar join you on your adventures. We are there to nudge you along, assist you when you are stuck, to simply play along with you and students we are there to help you graduate. Sadly though as it may be this is a work in progress. Any and all ideas are welcome. Currently the room keys are as follows (images may be added either here or in the beginning post): Clockwork key – steampunk/industrial Keyblade – fantasy Rusty key – historical Housekey – reality/present day Cybernetic key – sci-fi/mecha/futuristic Destroyed key – apocalyptic These are based more so on locations of where these genres may be placed than the content. Please let me know here or in PM if I have left any out or you are confused as to where a particular genre may go. Romance is allowed in all dimensions, battles are allowed in all dimensions, adventure/quests are allowed in all dimensions. All that I ask is that you remain courteous to your fellow members. I hope to see all of your RSVPs soon to the grand opening.
