Bands/Musicians you've seen live

41 posts in this topic

I don't know about you guys, but I absolutely love going to gigs. There's just something about seeing artists that you respect/admire/adore live, on stage doing what they love. The atmosphere is amazing, hundreds or thousands of people coming together with a common interest. appreciating people they've listened to for years, or even decades.

Unfortunately, I haven't seen as many bands as I'd like, but I've seen a few. I always keep my tickets, and usually buy a t shirt even though they're so expensive.

Anyway, here is my list, which is, if my memory serves, in chronological order

The Rasmus - 2004

Clawfinger - 2005

Nine Inch Nails - 2005, 2009

Reading Festival {Pearl Jam, Placebo, Slayer, My Chemical Romance, Less Than Jake, Bullet For My Valentine} - 2006

Within Temptation - 2007, 2008

Shiny Toy Guns - 2009 I think?

Basement Jaxx - 2009

Linkin Park - 2010

Twins of Evil Tour {Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson} - 2012

Peter Gabriel - 2013

I've also seen B*Witched and Vengaboys, but they don't count as 'muscians'

xD

Bands/Artists I would LIKE to see:

The Prodigy

Metallica

Rammstein

Christina Aguilera

Pink Floyd  - haha yeah right. I would seriously spend a shit ton of money on a ticket if they ever did play together again though

The Offspring

For some reason, that's all I can think of. I want to see so many, but now I'm actively trying to think of bands, I can't.

I'd definitely see some bands again. I'm probably going to see Within Temptation for the third time in January, and I'd go to see NIN again. Linkin Park were really good live, and Rob Zombie was just....wow. Best stage show I've ever seen; such a showman.

Also, just for shits and giggles, here are bands I wish I could have seen, but won't ever get a chance to due to death or never, ever getting back together.

Queen

Pink Floyd

Nirvana

Big Country

Your turn!

:D

I've also seen Madeon, Feed Me, Afrojack, Cazzette, Good Charlotte, Hollywood Undead, Deaf Havana, Escape The Fate(would not recommend. Awful.) and probably still a bunch of other stuff. I've been to quite a lot of gigs and a couple of festivals so it all gets a little blurry after a while.

Coming up soon I'm gonna see Panic At The Disco! and also Coheed & Cambria and Mindless Self Indulgence (3rd time seeing MSI)

I've seen Parov Stelar yesterday.

It was fucking amazing, love their positive and swingy music.

Had a wonderful evening.

I am on my way back from a VNV Nation show right now. It was freaking awesome, a giant bunch of positive energie and a great sound quality. The band was freaking nice an although they didn't play my favorite song, I have had the best night in what seems forever.

Awesome! I'm so glad they were good! I've seen some live footage of their shows before, so I'm not surprised they were amazing.

What's your favourite song?

Although I love so much of their stuff that it's a hard question, I had hoped they played Gratitude, it is just such a wonderful sog with a personal meaning to me. But they played so many lovely songs (it was about two hours), I'm totally happy. If you ever have the chance to see them live I'd totally recommend it!

I kinda cheat, since I used to go to festivals so I'd catch up on a bunch of bands all at once. Anyway here's my list I guess in no particular order.

Testament

Death Angel

Symphony X

Dream Theater

Judas Priest

Iron Maiden

KISS

In Flames

Arch Enemy

Moonspell

Soilwork

Motley Crüe

Nightwish

Heaven and Hell (with Dio, the year before he died. RIP Dio)

Legion of the Damned

Epica

Sonata Arctica

Ministry

Amon Amarth

Mastodon

Dragonforce (I had nothing better to do at the time they were playing on one of the stages. God, what a dreadful show.)

Exodus

Within Temptation

Slayer

Dropkick Murphys

Iced Earth

Bling Guardian

Yngwie Malmsteen

Saxon

Cavalera Conspiracy

Forbidden (year of the reunion, huge letdown because their singer's voice was ruined)

Sabaton

Gojira

Anthrax

Sacred Reich

Aside from that, I've also seen Janelle Monae live. (swoon)

Everyone seems to say Dragonforce are terrible live.

I have not heard a single good review lol

What were Nightwish like? Did you see them with Tarja or Anette?

Annette. They were alright. Nice show, but I'm not really a super huge fan of them to begin with, so I was just sitting down nearby and enjoying the show with half an ear.
