A story in Tamriel [Always OPEN]

4 posts in this topic

well after my little brother started playing Oblivion again I've been feeling a bit nostalgic, So i've decided to give this a try again! Welcome to the world of the Elderscrolls, lets make a story.

In the spirit of the January RP month I'm going back to my roots and this will be a Open RP, anyone can sign on at any time. these adventures should be dynamic and not everyone will be joining from the start.

I want this to be a group project, I'm not the best at leading a roleplay so I'll need help from you all to get things ready and moving.

first off lets see where and when we want to the story to take place? I'm familiar with the Oblivion and Skyrim games, Morrowind not so much, so during either game or just after the main quest should work.

As for plot; right now i'm thinking it would be fun to follow a guild questline with a small group instead of one miracle worker, there is plenty of choice in those quest-lines so which would you people like?

Squee! I'm in, I'm in! Since mine flopped anyway! :D I think we should do a guild with an objective, versus "Fighters guild" "Mages guild" since those sort of imply you need to be a fighter or mage to be a part of them. If we did something with the sole objective of cleansing the deadra from the world, everyone could play any class desired and still be a part.

Well since we are still in the planning stages and without characters it can be pretty much any guild. I'd like to go with one of the better storylines of the guild quests, like either of the thievesguild questlines, the oblivion fighters guild, or the skyrim dark brotherhood storyline. if we use the actual quests as a framework we'd have clear goals from the start.

Also I doubt there'd be much trouble getting some diversity in character classes; For example one time I made an entire RP based on the diversity in Thievesguild members, about a growing schism between the regular thieves and the mages specialising in the Illusion school, doing a faster job with unlock spells, invisibility and calming or paralysing spells. I've also made a thievesguild enforcer who just uses his brute force to get in and out without too much trouble.

In the game I would agree, I've done such things before, but in a roleplay I personally like to stick to an appropriate character. I wouldn't want to play a brute who's job was stealing, it just doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. But it's irrelevant, it was just a suggestion.
