"Caution is perhaps a sensible option..." Akerus mused. "However, the daring are often the victors. With risk comes higher reward. Since nobody else seems willing, I shall take the first step."

Akerus walked up the hallway and entered the next room.

Akerus opens the door and suddenly several darts fly at him, but his reflexes weren't fast enough for him to prevent being hit.

The door lead to a room filled with beds and occupied by several men and women dressed in hooded robes, identified as Cultists, as well as a Mage and a Warrior. The occupants of the room were alerted when the door's trap triggered and were ready to fight.

[Rolled 17 vs Reflex and 13 for damage for Akerus.

Initiative Order: Serafinn > Korrelia > Cultists > Akerus > Warrior/Mage > Tristan > Dei > Bachydios]

"Er, Serafinn, we kinda need you now," Korrelia shouted out uneasily as the hooded enemies just stared at her. She felt quite silly.

"They look like we woke them up from slumber," she added. "Anyway I'll let Serafinn come in and attack first, and support in the background where necessary."

Serafinn listened and nodded as he stepped into the hallway, sprinting to join. With a simple bound that took little effort, he jumped across the pit and caught up to his allies.

"HA HA! I would've fell in, but that place is 'the pits'! HA HA HA!" Serafinn laughed as he stopped next to Dei. "I miss anything?"

The Cultists moved towards the door, spreading out  to give each other some space. The two up front attacked Akerus and attempted to ignite him, one of them succeeded.

Reflexively Akerus placed his Warlock's Curse upon the Cultist directly in front of him. He shifted back a space to make way for his more hardy allies to intervene.

"You will regret wedging yourself in a doorway like that" Akerus said ominously, "You shall be slaughtered for your gross error in judgement. Behold! My Eldritch Blast!"

Akerus chanelled the dark and strange energies that lurked in the shadows. He summoned a crackling bolt of eldritch energy that shot across the small gap between him and the cultist he had previously cursed. Afterwords he tried to shake off the effects of the Cultist's ignite, but he failed miserably.

The Mage moved ahead, searching for a position that granted him line of sight of his enemies and allowed him to drop a large boulder upon Bachydios and Akerus, successfully hitting both.

Immediately afterwards the Warrior charged ahead, struck Bachydios with his halberd and pulled the Tiefling close enough to hold him in a clinch.

[Akerus and Bachydios took 4 damage from the boulder.

Bachydios took 5 damage from the Warrior and has been grabbed, save ends.]

"I'll save you, bro!" Tristan activated his Defender's Aura and moved in on the Warrior. He swung down his blade and activated his Vengeful Strike and Holy Smite to deal significant damage to the Warrior and daze him.

With his head still stuck in the Warrior's headlock, it was all Bachydios could do to shout a muffled,"Mmelpm mmmm!" (delays turn until after Akerus' next turn)

Due to his daze the Warrior was no longer able to hold Bachydios, but he made sure to use his best move, Killer Axe, to hit Dei. "Take this, bitch!" He shouted as he knocked Dei back and prone while dealing significant damage.

Afterwards the Mage came closer, covering almost everyone in the chilly wind that surrounded her. "Don't be so loud," she said, directed at the Warrior. Everyone who was covered in the chilly winds was suddenly shocked when the Mage discharged lightning, hitting everyone but Tristan and Korrelia and striking Bachydios in a vital point.

[Rolled 21 damage for Killer Axe vs Dei.

Afterwards Tristan brought his sword down for a Vengeful Strike, but missed the mark. As his turn came to an end Tristan felt the biting cold deal damage to him. "Dudes! Get out of her aura! Staying in it hurts, man."

With his hp dangerously low, Bachydios retaliated with Infernal Wrath against the Mage. With the Warrior distracted by the horde of psychic bats, Bachydios was finally free to unleash rainbows on the enemy group.

"IGNIS SPECTRUM!"

A burst of beams in varying intensities and colors of the light shot forth from his fingertips to overwhelm the enemies clustered together. After that, Bachydios retreated to behind Serafinn and Korrelia and spent an Action Point to activate his Second Wind.

Dei growled as he stood himself up again, "What'd you just say? I believe it was: take this, bitch!" he spent an action point to allow him his regular movement, and then melted into acid form as he surged toward the warrior, crashing over him in a sizzling wave and moving on past him. He reformed himself next the dazed mage, "None of you will be too loud shortly." he said, before swinging his off-hand sword to try to disrupt the mage's balance, so he could unleash a combination attack afterward.

Serafinn needed to deal with the warrior as soon as he could. If he could take him out, his allies would be in less of a horrible state. Serafinn swung his cane around again and held the top of his hat to the tip of the cane, pointing it outward at the warrior. "Take this you brute!" The top of his hat burst open and shot out a shining bolt of electricity from it, throwing and catching his hat back on his head.

Dazed and with no other options, the Mage clubbed Day against the his head, dealing moderate damage.

[20 vs AC

8 damage]

Tristan moved to Day, taking an Opportunity Attack from the Cultist, which he luckily managed to avoid, man used his Restore Vitality on Dei; healing Day for Tristan's surge value and allowing Dei to make a saving throw that shrugged off the effects of the fire. Afterwards, Tristan struck the Cultist, effectively killing it.
