HH's "Time of the Month" Thread

Haha I always talked openly about that stuff but just with my friends. I don't see a purpose in keeping it secret and acting all taboo like it's some satanic magic I shouldn't be messing with or something o-o It's natural. Don't hate me cause I have a period x.x

HAhahaha! It's Evil Queen actually. And I never had sex ed in my life, but I'm well aware of that stuff. Of course, none of it even bothers me either. (that guy who you can talk to about ANYTHING)

Oh, Alisyn.... XD

I'm on board with Ice, I see no reason to be all hush-hush about things, especially periods. How often do you hear someone say "I have to pee"? Why is that bodily function more acceptable that shedding my uterine lining and unfertilized eggs?

Please excuse me if I prefer to perform my ablutions in private and feel no need to announce my every action to the world at large. >.>

I don't keep it secret, but neither do I feel the need to tell everyone about it. My friends and I have more interesting things to talk about than our current fertility status. If we share a bathroom, they know where I am, and if not, there's no reason for me to tell them. If it was as bad as HH's, yeah, understandable, but it doesn't affect my function except on the first day or so.

It's true us dudes do know about menstruation. However we have been taught by our forefathers to act like it doesn't exist and jolly well get on with our day. We are taught through vague sexism to just ignore you in order to save ourselves the trouble of dealing with your woes.

But I have seen some pretty bad weeks filled with cramps so bad that the person was bed bound. It's no laughing matter. It's the punishment nature gives you for not popping out a baby like the good lord intended or whatever. Overall mentstruation is pretty raw deal. I feel for ya ladies, I really do. They might take away my man card but I'll go ahead and say that you guys have it worse than us dudes.

Hahaha well i do talk about my periods openly with friends but the older generation is much more conservative. Up to now my paternal family members still tell me to throw my used pads in the chute directly and not dirty the rubbish bin at home. And they're always worried that medicines are bad for me in the long run, setting aside the birth control issue. So unfortunately yes, he knows i've menstrual issues but no he doesn't think medicine is a good solution. He advocates doing sit-ups, which he thinks should be effective. =.=

Sit-ups are never the right answer.

To anything.

Actually, exercise helps, especially with cramps. :x

Moderate aerobic exercise, like walking and whatever. Don't go run a marathon. Idk about sit-ups, though. Even if you're not menstruating, keep exercising.

Or you can lose enough weight that your body can't sustain a baby and will stop your menstrual cycles. >.>

And stay hydrated. I rarely drink as much fluids as I should, but I try to around that time of the month.

Omgg i don't know how to deal with liquids during that time. Whenever i drink water i get really bloated. And yet at the same time i get these ridiculous cravings for cold drinks. I asked the waiter for an extra straw the moment Timey got his Sprite, when we went out to eat on Monday. I took only a few sips and felt instantly uncomfortable cuz of the bloat.

However i find hot drinks are really good. I'm just drinking hot milk tea for breakfast these days and i feel much better.

Also yes exercise really does help, but i absolutely hate it. T.T i know, sometimes it looks like i'm asking for this. But i really hate running. T.T or anything else.

I've heard that really athletic girls have shorter and lighter periods, but I totally feel you, screw all that noise, give me a damn cupcake.

I love sit ups. But Sean doesn't like them cause they're useless....right? :o

Ab exercises tend to be the least effective ones and out of those sit ups are also harmful for your lower back if not performed properly, so yes.

It doesn't have to be strenuous. Just moderate walking for 30 minutes to an hour every day.

And cuuuuuuute~~~

What does DD have to say about your sharing drinks with Time? :3

I'm sure the magnanimous DD isn't so insecure that he'll lose sleep over such petty things.

Besides he's got no right to complain, with all of us writing porn for him in the Auction.

Obviously he'll be jealous that he didn't get to steal some of my Sprite too.

Well when she wanted to share my drink she shared my straw rather than getting another so that is the difference.

Seriously, with what I'm doing to my poor angel for him right now if he so much as uttered something remotely akin to jealousy I would have lectured him like a catholic school nun - AND NOT THE SEXY KIND!
